Cloud City was the Galactic Empire's nationalised mining faction, providing all the materials for the needs of the Empire. In Year 13 it was replaced by Imperial Mining Corporation.

Role

It is simple, without raw materials, The Empire can not expand. Without raw materials, everything from stormtrooper armor to a Star Destroyer is just a concept. And it is our mission to supply The Empire with the raw materials it needs. We are the hardware to our Empire's software. Thusly, we are the breath of life to the Empire's production capabilities. We are the fortress of power on which all aspects of The Empire is built. The stronger the foundation, the stronger the fortress will be. The stronger we are, the stronger the Empire will be. We are the Fortress, we are Imperial Resource Extraction.

Imperial Resource Extraction is the product of the merger of the Empire's two previous mining factions, Cloud City and Bothan Blasting Corporation. Cloud city was once a minor and obscure provider of Tibanna gas in the backwater of the galaxy, until the Empire took ownership over it. Blessed with exceptional leadership, institutional encouragement towards personal and financial growth, and one of the highest introductory pay rates in the industry, it is no wonder that Cloud City attracted the best and brightest of all species and creeds from across the galaxy.

Serving Bothan Space since the era of the Galactic Republic, Bothawui Mining provided new techniques to gather raw materials from the ground that allowed the sector to grow beyond it's wildest dreams. Slowly they rose to power in the sector and brought the Kiner Corporation with them. Seeing an opportunity with the dying company, KinerCorp purchased the company and renamed it to the Bothan Blasting Corporation.

Imperial Resource Extraction never sleeps. The mines must run, the freighters must move, the material must flow to sustain the insatiable demand for raw materials in the galaxy. There is high demand for pilots, operators, prospectors and any others with a willingness to get their hands dirty to join us in this endeavor. With planets ripe for the prospecting, fleets of haulers at our disposal and untold wealth to back us, Imperial Resource Extraction is more ready than ever to meet head-on the challenges of the future.

History

Once just a obscure minor and tibanna gas provider somewhere in the galaxy, Cloud City has really changed its face through the last years.

Becoming a primary raw material provider for the Galactic Empire, Cloud City has risen up, financially and personally grown with the Empire.

In old times Cloud City only sold tibanna gas, but since the nationalization of the faction it provides all materials available in this galaxy.

Merge with Blue Sabre Transportation

In Year 6, Cloud City merged with Uther von Kaldreon's Blue Sabre Transportation to form Cloud City and BST Extractions and Transportation with Kaldreon as its head. This arrangement lasted until Year 8, when a dispute on material rights made Kaldreon loot everything in the faction that was not secure and incited the staff to leave. Kaldreon was swiftly removed from his position.

Rebirth as Imperial Mining Corporation

In Year 13, a new Nationalized Faction Imperial Mining Corporation (IMC) was created to replace Cloud City. All Cloud City assets and personnel were transferred to Imperial Mining Corporation and Cloud City closed its doors for good.
