Personal History
Early Years
Born to a wealthy family (Year -2, Day 133, 2:33) on the planet of Thyferra in the small town of Shrumby. Jinko had the privilege of a stable childhood growing up happy and healthy, although lonely due to the age difference of him and his siblings. Jinko is the youngest of 5 siblings and was born on Thyferra. He comes from a long line of medical professionals stemming back to the original Bacta discovery. Some call his family "Bacta Barons", usually those not as well off. From a young age Jinko showed signs towards his calling. He was often the one patching up his siblings and cousins. He was noted for once nursing a near death Vratix back to health after an attempted kidnapping (see: Kidnapping Attempt). Jinko gives his best in academics and keeps his body like a temple with a strict workout routine. He did not spend much time with siblings unless it was to patch them up. His lack of interest in other people began to make him slightly introverted and led to a decline in his bedside manner. To this day it is something he works hard at yet never seems to improve. After the attempted kidnapping, Jinko was given a shack by his father at Valendrin's insistence. The shack was an old storage hut that had fallen into disrepair. Approximately 20' by 12'with a roof-line of 8'6" on a 6:12 pitch. Constructed of stout wood and an older style thatch roof. Jinko was given the task of repairing it by Valendrin. He spent the next three months fixing it up before the shacks destruction on the day of his 15th birthday. After the loss of his first shack, Jinko had some help from The Boy's building a newer and better shack on the neighboring property, close to the original. The land was gifted to Jinko by a benefactor not told to Jinko at the time. Upon the death of Valendrin, Jinko found the old Brandy recipe of Valendrin's (see: The Scrapyard). Valendrins will had left it, among other things, to the distraught young man. Not knowing what to do besides brew it, Jinko sunk his life savings into his own brewery. He hired his acquaintances from the scrap yard to run it. Jinko sends a bottle to all of his friends as gifts or to fellow officers who get promoted.
Kidnapping Attempt
During Year 12 Day 188, Jinko was traveling with his family to an event in the Capital from their small chateau. Extremists comprised of Human and Vratix attacked them in hopes of getting a hefty ransom from Jinko's family wealth. The attack was turned away by a 14 year old Jinko and the family guard. Jinko managed to shoot down two of the Vratix himself. He immediately began to treat the would be kidnappers with medical attention and saved two of them from death (they were subsequently sent for hard labor). The house guard's personal respect grew, especially that of the Man-at-Arms Valendrin, after the 14 year old saved his arm from amputation, and Valendrin from an early retirement. Later investigations revealed that the kidnappers had help from the inside but no substantiating proof was found. As a result of the attempt, Jinko was allowed to study the martial and ranged skills from Valendrin after his mother interposed.
Valendrin's Tuteledge
Valendrin (Year 12) |
Valendrin Trastup (Born:Year -51 & Deceased Year 18)was the Man-at-Arm's for the Blixto Family. He was inducted into the family guard after Emperor Guinar Ndengin took power in Year 12. Valendrin had no desire to learn yet another marching order from a new Emperor with new ideas, so he asked to be discharged. He was given an honorable discharge and immediate employment from William Blixto of the Blixto Estates.
Valendrin had a previous marriage that fell apart. There was one child, a daughter, that disappeared under mysterious circumstances that Valendrin has never elaborated on. He never again sought out long term female companionship, instead he married his job.
He spent his first year training and hiring guards for his new job. No one really knows how the job even became available but some surmised that William and Valendrin knew each other previously. Valendrin served with distinction, even saving a young Jinko and his mother from an ambush in his first couple years of service. He won the respect of the entire household with his steadfast attitude and no-nonsense way of talking. He was proud of his job and of how young Jinko was turning out.
Valendrin spent most of his off duty time at his friends bar, The Tilted Transdoshan. The "Double T", as it was called by the locals who frequented it, was in the seedier part of Shrumby. He had his own table that he shared with "The Boys", his old army buddies. Valendrin was known to have a taste for brandy and even had his own recipe that he brewed himself every few years. The proprietor kept a private stash of the liquor in the back.
Valendrin was murdered on Year 18 with Jinko himself apprehending the perpetrator with a bit of help. The murderer is still awaiting trial as of Year 19 Day 287 with a scheduled trial within Year 20. Jinko had a statue commemorated to him that stands beside his shack. Valendrin also has the Thyferran Brandy named "V" named after him.
William Blixto |
Family Life
William Blixto (Born Year -56) comes from an old line of medical professionals and has a few well regarded papers he has written. His net worth is assessed at 180 Million credits. This is a conservative estimate based on property and work income. He owns an estate named Blixto Estates in the upper hemisphere of the sunward side of Thyferra. It lies a mere 6 hour flight from the capital of the planet. The estate comprises over 60 acres of lush forest with a stream in the upper quadrant of the property.
In his twenty's William met a young Gabrielle at a party in the capital. Gabrielle was also a medical professional, dedicated to finding new ways for bacta to treat ailments. William, a surgeon, was a dashing and well spoken man. Upon finding out she had the proper noble lineage, William decided to court her. After three months a wedding was held on his estate. Within a year they had their first child and from there Gabrielle decided she wanted to be a mother instead of a scientist. William, being a controlling and vain man, found this to his liking as it cemented his position as the house head.
After his first three children, William made a profitable venture and started dedicating more and more time to his fledgling business. Jinko never really spent any time with him, knowing his nanny and servants better than his own father. This put a strain on the relationship that is still present to this day. Upon the murder of Gabrielle, William cut almost all ties to Jinko. He never confiscated anything from Jinko but he never said anything to Jinko at the funeral and does not return any correspondence. William never even tried to find the murderer, Jinko did that with some help.
Locations mentioned in Jinkos Personnel File
The Scrapyard
Seldar of Seldar's Discount Scrap |
Jinko's first job was working for a local scrapyard named "Seldar's Discount Scrap". Located in the industrial area of Jinko's hometown by the major spaceport. The yard is approximately an acre by an acre, quite small by most standards. Opened by Seldar after he retired from the Imperail Army. He met Valendrin while at the Tilted Transdoshan one night. After exchanging some stories they formed a strong friendship. Seldar was quite good at his business amassing a decent amount of wealth which he re-invested in his yard. He purchased discount model hauler droids and refurbished them. After the refurbishment he would put them to work. He was so good at it that his services were asked for from other yards on the planet. Seeing the profit involved, Seldar changed his business structure and started to only purchase used droids and the parts he would need to refurbish his scrapyard droid army. It was around this time, during the restructuring, that Jinko gained employment. Following Valendrin's advice, he was very hard on young Jinko. He would often make Jinko clean the same area multiple times and to take orders from the droids. Jinko proved strong enough to handle the pressure and after proving himself, was transferred to tearing down droids for refurbishment. It was during this portion of the job that Jinko learned to machine and weld. He learned many other skills related as well but he excelled at machining to the point that Seldar made it his primary job. After Jinko turned 17, he was made a foreman and gave men and women double his age orders. This resulted in some friction but Jinko did as well as can be expected for a 17 year old in a power position. Seldar secretly considered Jinko his most valuable worker but he also understood the dynamics in people, so he let Jinko go at the end of the summer. He could see the toll it took on the serious young man and didn't want to steal more of an already erratic childhood. Unfortunately, Seldar died a few months after. Childless and without any close relatives, Seldar left the yard in trust to Valendrin. Unknown to Jinko, the yard was held in trust until Jinkos graduation from Medical School. Valendrin held the secret and on the eve that Jinko graduated, the yard was transferred. This was a bittersweet moment for young Jinko as, merely hours later, Valendrin would be murdered. Deciding that it would be too much to continue the business and truly, not wanting to, Jinko sold off all of the assets and client lists. With the profits he opened "Seldar's Delights" vineyard. He personally picked the trees and named the primary vintage he intended to sell "V", in honor of his mentor. He used the recipe left to him by Valendrin. He has other flavors in the works with plans to name them after his dearly departed. He left the vineyard in the hands of one of the Boy's when he made the decision to join the Army.
The Tilted Transdoshan
Ronny, Proprieter of the Double T |
The Tilted Transdoshan (AKA: The Double T) was opened in year -22 by the young entrepeneur Ronald Davies. Ronald had a plan right out of business school. He saw the Thyferra had a fairly large gap between those in the medical profession and virtually everyone else. Most of the services in the industrial areas were run down. He decided to purchase some of the more dilapidated structures and began to renovate them. He had a vision, and that vision was of a large bar that catered to anyone except the medical profession. His gamble paid off almost immediately. Most of the working class, long used to the medical types getting the new buildings and services, was wanting a place to call their own. Ronny provided that place. Within two months of opening he made his investment back. He then reinvested in the neighborhood and constructed some low income housing. He did not cut any corners and made a sample yet elegant building. he soon became the most respected man in the spaceport. Around Year 12 Ronny met Valendrin. Valendrin had heard of Ronny and after meeting him, pledged to help however he could. This partnership resulted in some profitable ventures for both men, including another four low income building being constructed. The Double T is located close to the major spaceport. It is surrounded by housing and small service buildings. It employs 8 people with the roster increasing in the holiday seasons. The pay is competitive with all the benefits normally available. The bar itself is 50'x40' with two levels. The upper level is open in the middle to allow those above to look down to the center stage. There are often musical acts performing, generally on the weekends. Tables on the lower floor are raised with stools. The bar is 20' long on the left wall as you enter. Sabacc tables and other gambling is available on the right. Food is only served on the lower levels. The class system of distinguishing aliens is not enforced. If someone gets out of line they are banned for life. Ronny has not had to ban many people as all the customers know they are not welcome in most other places on Thyferra. The upper floor has lower tables with the roof being wide open. Rafter planks criss cross the roof showing off it's earlier life as a storage warehouse. Jinko would often shimmy up the back wall then crawl across the rafters to listen to The Boy's chat. Ronny, loving his bar more than anything, of course knew that Jinko trespassed but he liked the young serious man so he let it go. He never told The Boy's they had a listener, it made him laugh to himself to have a secret on the most secretive bunch in his bar. He had strong feelings for The Boy's as they had elected themselves the bars enforcers. He never had to pay a bouncer after they setup in his bar. Either Jay-zon or Scotman would handle any trouble with Valendrin and Techy as backup.
Medical School
Military Career
Jinko entered his training on Prakith with vigor. He was quite impressed with LTCMDR Tyra and his knowledge coupled with an easy manner. He admitted to himself that it was mostly because Tyra reminded him of Valendrin.
