Farra Lin-Pa is a girl who has travelled across countless systems with her mother and father before eventually deciding, after seeing some of the terrible things in the galaxy, to do something that would evidentally cost her almost two years of her life trapped and isolated. During her service in the Galactic Empire while still a mere Recruit in their Academy, Farra encountered a few technical issues with her assigned ship and was forced to land it during a Hyper-exercise. Trapped on a planet with nothing but a wreckage of a ship and zero communication with her Training Officer at the time, Farra would spend almost two years surviving in a city on the outskirts of an unknown planet.
Imperial Academy
Her life in the Academy, what little there was of it, was actually a lot better than she had imagined. There were days however when she'd missed her companions Vrai Librax and Maia Yen, but she had high expectations that one day they too would join her in the Empire. Alas, it was extremely unfortunate that during a Hyper-exercise, Farra's ship encountered some serious technical issues that forced her to immediately drop out of Hyper - something that she was always warned not to do - and she plummeted towards the surface of an unknown planet. Cut off from civilization and zero communication, Farra could only push herself into using her survival tactics in the hopes that some time in the very near future someone would pick her up on the scanners and rescue her.
Fate
It was almost two years after her disappearance when the Togruta noticed a ship on the horizon and immediately put into action a signal - fire - and stood a short distance away waving to it. No matter who it was, Farra knew it was going to be her only means of escaping the planet, and when the ship landed she held her breath half-expecting the arrival to be a slaver. Instead she was greeted by a Zeltron, one who stared on at the female in sheer horror before dropping to her knees. A moment or two had passed by before she finally revealed herself to be the Togruta's long-lost friend.
"The ship picked you up on the scanner and after investigating I contacted several people including Maia. When I told her what I'd found she did what she needed to do and I was given explicit authority to be here. We thought you were dead, Farra." There was of course shared emotions between the two while Farra ran in to embrace her friend, telling her the story as they returned to the awaiting vessel. Soon after however Vrai and Farra were to part ways for a while - Farra was given Vrai's ship to return to the Academy, while Vrai took her own assigned ship to start her own work in her sector. Knowing that both Vrai and Maia were alive and well, and in the Empire of all places, Farra could look towards a brighter future as an Imperial.
Imperial Academy: The Return
As the small Starship came in to land, Farra spent a short time seated in the cockpit and staring out of the small arched window, feeling a wave of emotion and nerves kicking in. It had been so long since she'd been in such a crowded area and she was starting to feel a little uneasy as she noticed the humans and the almost-humans. Unlike so many of them she was considered an alien, a lower tiered Class and her role in the Empire would be far more extreme than she knew Maia would have had. However, as she closed her eyes and shook her head she thought back to her words of wisdom to Maia prior to her first experience with the Empire.
"Home is where you make it, not where you live. If you could stand on your own two feet and serve a greater cause, would you? Imagine being able to explore new worlds and planets, and sectors. Imagine what you would be capable of if you allowed yourself to break free from your comfort zone. Dear sweet Maia, you are young but one day you will see for yourself. There will come a time when you will want to embrace an opportunity."
In short, Farra knew that home would be wherever she made it, albeit in the Empire or back on the planet she'd made home since the crash, and one way or another she would show everyone around her that just because she was different, did not mean to say she was any less of an Imperial than they were. It was all about dedication and loyalty to the Emperor and the Galactic Empire.
