Description

The Enigma, by Shir Bolban, is an oil on canvas masterpiece depicting Deputy Director Crueya Vandron moments after his succession to leader of Magnaguard Manufacturing.

The ambiguity of the subject's expression, the monumentality of the composition, and the subtle modeling of light and atmospheric illusionism whilst only using a limited pallet of whites, blacks and greys are signature qualities of artist Shir Bolban.

History

The Deputy Director never in-fact sat for the painting as it was a private commission by a lucrative yet private art dealer and small time art gallery proprietor on Corellia, whom notoriously holds a particular penchant for Imperial figureheads. Sadly the artwork, along with several others on-rout to the gallery, were stolen by Rodian pirates, whom made off with some 120 million credits worth of artwork.

On day 134 of the year 12 a droid made reproduction of the painting was created from the holographic recording that was luckily taken before the artwork was stolen. The reproduction now hangs in the Imperial Gallery at the Imperial Archives.
