+

Jorgus finally joined the Empire in Year 9 when he was 23. In the academy, his professor was Tec Vaan. After graduating from the academy as a Basic Graduate, Jorgus was assigned to the Imperial Navy. To his disappointment, he started out his career in the Navy working onboard larger capital ships. Though this wasn't unusual, it would be a lie to say that he hadn't hoped to be immediately assigned to a fighter squadron. Through it all, Jorgus just bit his lip, and kept working. He showed his skill in fighters and flight simulators and eventually those displays got him placed in a TIE fighter during combat exercises. When he performed exceptionally there too, Jorgus finally got what he had been waiting for.

Ace Pilot
+

+
Accompanying his promotion to Flight Sergeant Jorgus was assigned to a new squadron, Vengeance squadron a new TIE-Scout squadron. He stayed there through many missions, forming bonds with other members of the squadron. There efficacy got them assigned more difficult and critical missions and through it all, they gained renown. Jorgus, or Vengeance 02, also began to gain a reputation as a daring pilot of exceptional skill. This, combined with the initiative he took within his fleet to ameliorate the training exercises and step up the training, saw him rise through the enlisted ranks.
+

+
Finally, when he was a Master Flight Sergeant, he was assigned on a special mission to Carida. The mission saw him transferred from Vengeance squadron to Onyx squadron, an elite TIE-Scout squadron widely known for its unorthodox tactics. The only reason it was still around was that it had never failed a mission. Not once. Jorgus came onto the squadron as the replacement tactical advisor. The one before him had just been promoted to an officer and transferred to a different fleet. The mission, like all the others, was successful, and upon its completion Jorgus, when provided with the choice, elected to return to Vengeance squadron.
+

+
By the time his return was actually put into place, he was a Flight Officer and the squad leader. Things seemed well, at first, though it was taking Jorgus time to adjust to his command role. Despite the trust his squadmates placed in him and the tactical expertise he had, he often second-guessed himself, not wanting to needlessly risk the lives of members of his squadron. While a noble notion, in the grand of schemes it was ineffective as the life of a few of Imperials could surely be sacrificed for the greater good of the Empire. Still, Jorgus' stubbornness prevailed over his sense and his unwillingness to take risks led not only to his squad beginning to lose their trust in him, but to failed missions. Had the missions been of a lesser importance, failure would not have been so bad. However, the missions the squadron was being assigned on were often critical - a result of their past performance and the skill Jorgus proved he had. Luckily this mission was not too critical for if it had Jorgus would likely have lost his command. He was given a second chance, though, and he was determined not to waste it.
+

+
On the next missions that followed Jorgus began taking more risks. Though he lost a pilot in that time, the missions he and his squad were assigned to were definite successes. Again, Jorgus' reputation grew and he became a name frequently heard by aspiring aces in the simulators. He even helped run combat exercises when time allowed. Things were going great, until he took a little too great of a risk in a scouting mission, moving too far into enemy territory. Though he had ordered the rest of the squad to stay back, not wanting to risk their lives, they had all followed, having grown as stubborn as he was. That quality saved his life that day, when enemy forces scrambled two squadrons of fighters to confront them.
+

+
A dogfight ensued. At first, it was just bad. Vengeance squadron was outnumbered two to one. However, they had trained for such situations. Besides, they were facing uglies that were less maneuverable and poorly built, even if they did have a better arsenal. Thus, they managed to dispatch the enemies while only losing two of their men. However, that was just the first wave, a warm up. Moments after the fight died down two squadrons of Z-95 headhunters came at them. In their first pass, in which they caught Jorgus and the other Imperials almost entirely by surprise, they killed two more pilots and damaged two other TIE-Scouts. Though the Imperials responded bravely it was futile. The Headhunters were better equipped for combat, more maneuverable, and Jorgus' superior tactics were made irrelevant by the fact that they only had nine ships, two of which were damaged, bringing the count to about four enemy ships for every friendly.

+
Vengeance squadron scrambled, starting up hyperspace and getting out as fast as possible. The silence of space had never terrified Jorgus before this moment. The distressed voices of his pilots, frantically communicating their progress in programming hyperspace locations, would cut off and be replaced first by static, then by silence. A few moments would pass and the cycle would repeat itself.
+

+
Only four Imperials - Jorgus included - made it out alive that day. They had managed to take out seven of the headhunters during their escape, though they didn't bother to remark that when they next saw each other. They were all too occupied. Some with their thoughts, others with the severe injuries they had suffered, and Jorgus with his guilt. Had he not gone out so far, none of this would have happened.

Leaving the Empire
+

+
Over the next weeks Jorgus was tormented by the event. He consulted Fleet Command about the problems but could not forgive himself. Eventually, after discussing the possibility of transferring to the reserves with Fleet Command Jorgus left. He practically disappeared and didn't stay to say so much as goodbye to the people he knew.

Up until Jorgus' tenth birthday he was a relatively happy child. He spent his days outside with a wooden stick pretending it was a speeder, a lightsaber, or a fighter cockpit and he would be shooting down pirates and all of Corellia would chear him on. His parents would spontaneously leave for business trips and Jorgus would be left all alone with his droid maid in his house on Corellia. Many years passed and Jorgus still played and imagined and watched his parents leave and return. On the night of his tenth birthday Jorgus was ushered down into the hidden bunker underneath his house. Confused he began to fiddle with the controls and was able to activate a camera inside the house. He was proud of himself, but that pride only lasted a moment... When he turned on the camera he saw his parents killed mercilessly and then dragged away. He stayed in the bunker for many, many nights when he began to run out of food he eventually made his way to Coronet with the few credits he had. He survived on the streets begging for money and for help. He never ate much and he was never given much. He scavenged a lot from nearby junk yards which he in turn sold for credits. Every week he would hide half of the credits he got and use the other half for necessities, like food, water, and a little clothing.

Return to the Empire
Dreams and Ambitions
+
Almost exactly two years later Jorgus spontaneously returned. He made no mention of what he did during his time away but he seemed revitalized and was as energetic as he had been in the peak of his career before his leave, so most did not question him. During his time away much had changed within the Empire, not the least of which was the restructuring of the military. Though most assumed it would take some time for him to readjust he had kept tabs on the Empire during his time away. The most difficult thing to deal with was the idea of returning to the Navy, a decision he made because of feeling that it would be best to return to something he knew and confront the past. He also had trouble adjusting to the fact that many of the people who had been recruits around the time he left were now officers, his superiors. Many of his friends had also changed branches, if not left the Empire, or been killed in action.

As a young child Jorgus always dreamed of being an explorer, a freelance mercenary, or a bounty hunter. Something that would allow him to go wherever he wants to go with nobody to tell him that he is not allowed to or that he cant. He wanted to be able to leave anything, anytime, especially Corellia. Especially this city he just wanted to leave and fly around eternally visiting new planets and travelling throughout the stars. Like most children's dreams, these eventually changed.
+
Often, thoughts of where he would be had he stayed in the Empire picked at him, but he knew that he had needed the time away and had done valuable, important things while on his own.

Pre-C.N.A.
+
Imperial Officer
Three years passed and Jorgus eventually turned 13 years old by that time he had saved up a lot of money and had learned ways to bargain with traders to get the best price on the things he found. He was able to buy himslef a small room in a hotel near a library. After buying himself some nicer clothes he applied for a position in the library that was very close to the hotel he lived in and was accepted. He served at the sales desk, the informations desk, and as an aid to the people around the library. Any time he was off duty from any of these jobs he would eat a little bit and look up and examine records of strategies, used by experts of naval warfare, and accounts of wars that had passed. His favorite things upon examining these records would be exploiting the flaws in his head he loved seeing how the tide of some battles may have turned if only the commander would have moved his fighters there instead of here, or focus power on lasers instead of shields. He would go over the fights in his head until he knew them so well it was like he experienced them... he wished he had experienced them.
+
Promotion to Ensign upon return as a result of the military restructuring.

Corellian Naval Academy (CNA)
+
Other Information
Several more years passed and Jorgus eventually turned 16. One day while he was on his shift at the informations desk a professor from the Corellian Naval Academy came to look up some information on Naval Warfare and historic wars. The librarian new that Jorgus would know where to find these and she told the Professor to go ask him. The professor did as suggested by the librarian and Jorgus began telling him the events and wars that the professor was interested in learning about. He knew them so well by that time that he did not even go to look up the records to give them to the professor. Astonished by Jorgus' knowledge he began to quiz him on events and when Jorgus answered every question correctly the professor made up his mind and took him to the dean of the academy. The dean didnt want Jorgus to join because he didnt have the means to pay, but the professor stepped in and made a bet with the dean. The professor bet the dean that Jorgus would graduate with honors, if he didnt then the professor himself would pay twice the acceptance fee for entrance into the academy, and if he did then the school would recognize him as a student and give him a diploma. Having nothing to lose the dean accepted the bet and Jorgus enrolled into the CNA (Corellian Naval Academy) the following year. Four years later Jorgus graduated from the Naval Academy with an honors graduate diploma, and an award for most accomplished student. Several days after he had graduated from the academy Jorgus went around the people in the school and thanked them all, especially his professor. He then left with a few of his friends from the academy on a trip to Mandalore to join the Mandalorian Underground.

Thoughts
More to Come.
+
“I never wanted to be a pilot. I had always been a groundpounder. I learned to spar; got good with weapons and my only experience with ships was seeing them fly overhead. The closest I ever got to space before joining the Empire was flying my speeder. Eventually, when I left Corellia, I decided it was time to try something new and I thought that the Empire would be a good change of pace. When I was assigned to the Navy I was more than surprised, but I took it in stride and learned what was taught. I filled my hours practicing in the simulator but eventually it just wasn’t enough. I felt like there was always a little extra I could do and while my actual flight experience was minimal the numbers on my SimLog were adding up. Even when I wasn’t piloting I would be running over tactics and maneuvers in my head, whether I was at attention during a boring speech, in line in the Mess Hall, or in bed after curfew. I was hooked.
+
Eventually, the simulator stopped being enough so I would go on joyrides after curfew. I was careful but I couldn’t hide that I was tired the following mornings. My training sergeant got suspicious and eventually he caught me in the hangar as I was coming back from one of my excursions. I spilled the beans because I didn’t want to make things worse. I expected to be reprimanded and I was, but it wasn’t too bad. Actually, being caught turned out to be an important part in my career because the next time the sergeant needed to put together a squadron he knew I already had flight experience outside the simulator so I got assigned and was promoted to Corporal. Not that I’m recommending breaking curfew and going on joyrides or anything.”

Betrayed

Second-in-command let a successful coup against him & framed Jorgus in a case of ratting out on the organization to Corsec. Feeling betrayed and wanting a change of pace + having never received direction in his life he decided to go into the Empire

Joining the Empire

Jorgus finally joined the Empire in Year 9 when he was 23. In the academy, his professor was Tec Vaan. After graduating from the academy as a Basic Graduate, Jorgus was assigned to the Imperial Navy. Often, thoughts of where he would be had he stayed in the Empire picked at him, but he knew that he had needed the time away and had done valuable, important things while on his own.

Thoughts
