Early Life

Tarq was born on Y - 2, D 211 on a remote space station somewhere in the deep space surrounding the Csilla system. At birth, his full name was Mithant'arq'kruger, and in accordance with the Chiss tradition, he was given Tarq as his shortened name. Krugers were famed explorers for the Chiss dating back generations, reflected in the family's coat of arms of an arrow shooting in the sky. Tarq's father had continued on this path all his life, identifying new hyperspace routes from Csilla into the Inner Core and mapping out most of this sector for the CEDF. Most of Tarq's early childhood was spent in the small, cramped space of his parents' scout shuttle, with not many friends besides the countless tomes that laid in the data pads of the ship's library. They would spend several days and sometimes weeks in the darkness of the hyperspace void and only making landfall in the crummy, second-tier trading stations of backwater Core planets. Tarq was an easy child with a keen eye to learn, and in his formative years, he built up the curious and resilient personality that made him the man he was.

All of this changed on Y 8, during a routine mapping journey the Krugers took to the Empress Teta system to confirm the locations of the new Imperial Golans there. Just as Tarq's father Dalan was negotiating the prices of the provisions for their return trip, a small armada of bandits, calling themselves "Rebels", attacked the system
