In Year 14, Welks would begin a career in the Coruscant private security industry. Taking a number of jobs that varied from security guard to bodyguard, to what could be described as mercenary work. The next year he would marry Sana Glover, with whom he had three children: Hazel, Hervis, and Victoria.

By late Y19 Welks would take an interest in the Imperial Army, believing that life as a stormtrooper would allow him to better provide for his family. This would create a rift between him and Sana which would cause their divorce in Y20. Two weeks after their divorce, Welks would attempt to enlist in the Imperial army as a stormtrooper and be singled out for the academy.

Alories Tanus, an intermittent trader of some repute, former citizen, soldier, and public servant of the Hapes Consortium, now a citizen and Officer of the illustrious Galactic Empire. Not much is known about Alories prior to his reinstatement into the Empire, except maybe by those who have traded and momentarily crossed paths with him during his time as a rising facilitator of goods, and servant of Hapes. He was once a corrouser that swam in many social circles during his time as a trader, but has since reformed and found purpose in his dedication to the New Order.

Most would say, upon first meeting him, that he was enigmatic with a calm demeanor. Once trust was built, many would find him jovial, lively, and could talk for hours on various topics of academia including but not limited to the origins of various cultures, archaeology, economic theories, and military traditions.

Early Life

Alories, born to Villius [Father] and Ezra Traek-Tanus [Mother], on the planet of Perma in the Humbarine Sector, the last known holdings of his family titles and distribution, Year -12, Day 134. His mother died during childbirth, which if you asked Alories, was the reason his father resented him.

As what his father thought befitted his House’ stature he raised Alories in a manner that befit a child of a prominent Imperial House of the time. That included inducing him to a regimented routine of exercise, study of Imperial history and ideals, and introduction to Imperial military basics. His regiment, between the ages of 6 and 17, was personally oversaw by Villius, and household servants, most of whom were former compatriots during his time as an Officer in the Storm Trooper Cor

Due to the strictness of his lifestyle, and harshness of his father’ hand, it fast caused Alories to resent his father, which later would lead him to leaving Perma and seeking citizenship with the Hapes Consortium. Records indicate that Alories set out on his own at 17, whether he officially ran away or was pushed out by his father, remains unclear.

Age of Courrousing

Prior to leaving for Hapes, Alories had built up a local-reputation as a socialite, renowned corrouser, and if the opportunity presented itself a trader, in some cases even stealing his own family’s heirlooms and selling them to traders passing through the sector. This was much to the disdain of his father, and certainly an intentional rebellion by the young-socialite. These interactions also helped Alories to build a network outside of his father’ grasp, which later helped him in securing a visa and eventually citizenship with the Hapes Consortium.

If one were to know Alories during these early days, they would most likely find him frequenting the bars, nightclubs, and other social venues on Perma. This early behavior would lead to him picking up an alcohol addiction, and a deep seeded anger which would lead him into many scuffles and brawls with other locals. Later in life, Alories would reform from his corrousing ways, but nonetheless it set his future trajectory.

The Perma Incident

During his younger years, Alories frequently attracted the ire of his father. It even further angered Villius that Alories began to build a name for himself in local political and merchant circles, which tied his hands in terms of being able to admonish him in public. The tenuous relationship between his father and himself was well-known, but rarely spoken about. The younger Tanus was more favored by the up and coming politicians and traders, while his father, from his years of service, curried more favor or rather fear from the more established parties of influence.

It all came to a head late in Year 15, Alories was attending a networking event on Corellia in preparation to build a larger profile for himself within Imperial Politics. His attendance to the event was unknown to his father at the time. From his connections back on Perma, he received notice that a raid had been conducted on his apartment, and several of his businesses, which consisted of Cantinas and one high-end restaurant aptly named ‘De Instituatur.’ Along with his businesses being shut-down, several of his close confidants, allies, and friends were arrested. To this day, it is unknown what officially happened to his compatriots that fateful night, but it is assumed that they were executed as their profiles never arose in Imperial holorecords again. Most of which remain classified regarding the incident.

Under the assumption that the action on his holdings were authorized, perplexing as that was to him at the time. For all intents and purposes his record was unblemished and listed him as an upstanding citizen of the New Order. He fled on his YT-510. At first, he was unsure where to go, but after remembering a few trading contacts operating within the Hapes Consortium that he had cultivated earlier in life he punched a course for the planet Lorell.

In the following days of the event, Alories was unsure whether he was officially a fugitive on the run from Imperial authorities or a victim of an unauthorized criminal action. He knew that if he was officially a fugitive on the run that his arrival into Hapes space would only delay an inevitable arrest and extradition back into Imperial territory, being that the Hapes Consortium was a well-known neutral Government with former ties to the original Imperial Union. With that in mind, he was also unwilling to abandon his Imperial ideals all together and commit treason by joining one of the Governments or groups aligned with the then Galactic Alliance.

After a week in hyperspace and monitoring of Imperial Security channels, he learned that there had not been an official warrant for his arrest issued, which again did not comfort him further as it could also signal far graver consequences and criminal charges, such as treason. It is uncertain what drove him to reach out to the individual that initially alerted him to the seizure and arrest actions - upon making contact he had learned that the action was most likely conducted by individuals directly aligned with his father, which included local politicians and security officers that had served with him during his years of service in the Stormtrooper Corps. He had also pieced together that the action was not officially authorized through the proper local Governing channels, in fact no record existed to signify that such an action had occurred. This could have gone unnoticed by Imperial authorities being that Perma was an unimportant territory on the fringe of Imperial politics, but Alories remembered holo captures that he held in position of entreaties written to the disgraced Emperor Vodo Bonias by his father, who was a staunch supporter of the old Imperial mechanizations. Those holorecordings were acquired after he found them in an old chest, a family heirloom that he had sold in order to free himself from the grip of father. He never thought they would come of use, in fact it never crossed his mind that his own family would try to arrest him and as far as he was aware, kill him.

Officially on the eve of Y16, he had reached out to ISB to report his suspicions and present evidence against his father. The Officer he had reached out to [Redacted], via the communication array system onboard his YT-510, was at first confused as to why he was reaching out. The Officer refused to acknowledge whether there were any ongoing investigations or actions occurring with the Humbarine system, though Alories adept at reading expressions, in that moment confirmed the actions against him were of a more personal nature. He released all documents detailing his father’s entreaties to Vodo Bonias and other former disgraced officials, an affidavit explaining what he knew about the illegal action, details on individuals known to operate within his father’s sphere, and locations of his father’s and his accomplices known whereabouts. The Officer, [Redacted] urged him to return to Imperial Space, but Alories knowing how ISB could react early in these investigations to root out all possibilities of a threat, disengaged his communications and proceeded into Hapan space. He took comfort in clearing his conscience, while his family name would remain blemished, he knew that there was a possibility that he could clear his own name in the coming years.

The Fall of House Tanus

While not much is known about the ensuing investigation around Villius Tanus and his associates, falling in line with traditional ISB procedure, Alories was alerted to a local Imperial news network bulletin, largely revolving around the Humbarine system, that he monitored on his way to Lorell and while sitting in port, the title read, “Perma Incident leads to the arrest of several Influential Imperials planning an Insurrection against the New Order.” Not much else was ever recorded on the incident that led to the arrests, holorecords that do exist are heavily redacted and most of the involved individuals have disappeared from the annals of Imperial History.

Service to the Hapes Consortium

(This denotes the start of IC events) The series of events leading to Alories’ arrival into Hapan space was never directly connected to him, nor suspected. All the same, after a few days awaiting in Lorell’s Orbit for clearance he was boarded and detained by a joint-group of Hapan Customs and Naval Intelligence officials responsible for questioning individuals looking to immigrate into the Cluster. His ship was left in orbit while they transported him and his possessions to a secure holding facility on planet, where they conducted a thorough background screening. He passed and was granted citizenship on the condition that, he like other Hapan youths, serve the Hapan Royal Armed Forces for a minimum of 6-months. He accepted, and then proceeded to enroll into the Academy.

During his tenure with the Hapes Consortium he served in a variety of roles, including as a Lieutenant in the Royal Marine Corp’. After his 6-month mandatory service, he transferred into the Hapan Government working on a variety of projects which brought him in contact with prominent members of the Ministry of Interior, Industry, and other civil branches. He would ultimately retire at the civilian rank of Ardarix (Experienced Hapanii).

He recognized many similarities between the Consortium and the Empire in their decorum, perhaps which was the reason he had chosen to seek citizenship with the Consortium versus seeking refuge elsewhere. The strong sense of military tradition, cultures steeped in a rich history, and a strong sovereign overseeing the progression of their respective Governments. The largest difference, however, was the Consortium’ insular policies, little interest to involve themselves on the Galactic stage, and unwillingness to adapt traditional structures of Governing.

Having grown from his experience with the Hapes Consortium and his sense of wanderlust satisfied. Alories decided to resign from his position and seek reinstatement with the Galactic Empire on Y21, D36. It is further noted that he left on good terms.

It All Comes Full Circle - Return to Imperial Service

Upon receiving his citizenship papers, Alories embarked via his YT-2000 ‘Deliverance’, to the Imperial Academy located on Prakith. His official date of registration was Y21,D47. He completed the Academy with high merits, being awarded the Imperial Academy Basic Graduate ribbon with Honors on Y21, D52. After the completion of his training at the Academy he was instated into the Imperial Army as a Second Lieutenant with the 2nd Imperial Legion. After a period of lull and a wish to explore the social scenes of the Empire, Second Lieutenant Tanus was placed on the Imperial Reserves. He would later return to Imperial Active Service with a reassignment to the well decorated 3rd Imperial Legion.
