Summary

Demdroom Loo is a 21 year old Ortolan male. At a height of 2 meters, he is considered rather tall for his species (average Ortolan height being around 1.1 to 1.7 meters). He is covered in a greenish-yellow hued velvet which is a product of the Ortolan tradition of pelt dying. This color also denotes his ancestral designation as a warrior in Ortolan society.

Character History

Infancy

Demdroom Loo was born in the equatorial forests of the frigid planet Orto. His father was a hardened warrior and his then-pregnant mother a doctor. When he was only a baby, slavers disguised as dye traders forcefully captured all of the members of his village and subsequently exited the planet with them in stow. Any sort of initial retaliation from the Ortolans was swiftly and effectively put down.

Aboard the slave ship, the Ortolan villagers were subjected to borderline unlivable conditions. This prompted a desperate and rather violent struggle from the members of the village's warrior class in an attempt to commandeere the vessel and return home. The Ortolans outnumbered the slavers significantly and were eventually successful at incapacitating them. Unfortunately, the vessel had been placed on a passcode encypted autopilot setting during the fighting and was locked onto Dagobah, another planet in the Sluis system.

Life on Dagobah

Upon entering Dagobah's atmosphere, the ship was met with incredibly aggressive turbulence and experienced malfunctions, causing the ship to plummet without the ability to engage reverse thrust. The ship was lucky enough to land perpidicular to a body of water which prevented the ship from being destroyed. Unfortunately for some of the Ortolans onboard, the impact was still devastating enough to cause the death of several members of the village.

The remaining Ortolans escaped the vessel and began to use supplies from the ship to set up camp on nearby land. Thankfully to their being accustomed to forest life, they were not completely out of their element on this planet and quickly adapted. Ortolans are also adapted to the dim conditions on their own world which benefitted their sight and allowed them to more easily identify potential threats on Dagobah.

Because of the general lack of sentient beings on the planet, there was little trade to be had and often the Ortolan villagers would manufacturer their own items and tools from the vast vegetation that surrounded them. The Ortolans lived a life off the land for a period of years and established their own village there.
