Silens Nex is a junior pilot serving in the Imperial Navy. He was born on Qat Chrystak and left to serve the Empire after the death of his father.

Silens Nex

History

Early Live

Silens' mother Matri died giving birth to him. His father didn't cope with it very well and Silens' childhood suffered for it greatly. Hunting was a family business, but his father didn't allow Silens to go hunt with him. His father was too worried that something would happen to his only son so he left him home often and didn't allow him to go outside without supervision. Silens didn't like it; he wanted to explore and experience something exiting. When Silens was old enough he looked forward to going to school but his father insisted that he learn at home with a personal teacher. Silens hated his hather for it; all he could do was sit at home or be at their garden, which wasn't very exciting.

Teen Years

As the years passed, hunting became too dangerous because pirates and rebels made their bases in the hunting areas and usually shot anybody who wandered too close. As a result, Silens's father didn't go hunt very often and the income of the Nex family decreased greatly. But this proved to be beneficial to Silens because his father allowed him to start pilot training as they needed more money to maintain family house. After Silens completed his training he started to work for local transport company; the payout wasn't big but he got a chance to fly small freighters around his home planet. Piloting became everything for Silens. Sometimes he was away for weeks, not visiting his home at all, just getting more and more assignments so he could fly. When he was experienced enough, the company allowed him to escort big cargo ships around the system and soon the entitre sector. His father didn't like it at all, but because Silens was barely at home there was nothing he could do about it. However, when Silens didn't show up at home for several months, his father called Silens' supervisors and managed to get him transferred back to his homeplanet. Silens was really angry with his father and refused to go home; instead, he lived aboard his freighter.

Leaving home

Silens and Abbar didn't speak for a long time, but things changed when pirates showed up in his home city. Soon afterwards, rebels arrived and a war broke out on the streets. The city was in chaos and almost no ships could leave. Silens forced to go back home to look for new opportunities to fly again. He looked at options to join the pirates or rebels, but his father refused to let him join either because, he said, it would just get him killed. They had a big argument and Silens stormed out of the house to the night city to clear his head. It was around morning when he decided to go back home only to find that the house was robbed and his father shot dead. Silens never found out who did it, and he still thinks it is his fault that his father is dead; he could protected him if he were home. There was nothing left that forced him to remain at home so he sold what he could and bought a ticket to Coruscant; he heard great rumors about the planet and wanted to see if they were true.

Empire

When he arrived at the capital planet he was confused; the planet was too big for him. He had only a few thousand credits on him, not enough to buy a apartment or a ship. He was left wandering the streets of Coruscant, trying to decide what to do next. After a fe hours, he came across an Imperial recruitment centre; the posters showed that he could join the Imperial Navy and all he wanted to do, after all, was fly. He asked a recruitment officer if he could really join the Navy, and the officer confirmed it and showed him some holograms of ships he could potentially pilot. That impressed Silens very much; he never dreamed he could fly an Imperial Fighter. Silens decided to enlist immediately, leaving for the Imperial Academy that very afternoon. When Silens arrived at the academy, he was assigned to Professor Daniel Ascarion. Within weeks Silens graduated with an overall grade of 96% so he received the Imperial Academy Honours Graduation ribbon and joined the Imperial Navy with the rank of Crewman.

Personality

Appearance

Silens is Qiraash, but you would hardly recognise him as one because his mother was Chiss. As a result, Silens' appearance is very unique. His head isn't so big, his skin is unusually pale and his eyes are just black. Other than that, he just like any other Qiraash: average sized and cocky. He also has one tattoo, an Imperial Seal around his left eye. He got the tattoo after he was accepted to a fleet to celebrate and show his dedication to Galactic Empire.

Goals and Ambitions

Silens is generally obsessed with piloting and ships. He loves to fly anything, be it a one-man fighter or thousand-crew capital ship. His goal is to own a private war fleet. He knows that he is most likely never going to use it but when he asked why he always replies, "You never know when a private war fleet may come in handy." As for his service in Navy, he hopes to quickly advance through the ranks so he can command a capital ship. His ultimate dream is to command a Super Star Destroyer because there is no mightier ship in the Galaxy.
