Grippa Warpath, son of Trandor and Inoa Warpath, of the Kiffar Clan Rinae. Grippa Warpath, and his branch of the Clan Rinae, were forced to leave Kiffex when Crime Syndicates -headed by Black Sun- forced all Kiffar Clans to submit to them. Rather than become beholden to Black Sun the remnants of the Clan Rinae fled Kiffex, vowing to return. Grippa Warpath is the nominal head of the Tribal and Family branch of the Clan Rinae that is the Warpath family.

History

Youth

Year 3-7

Grippa was born in a small homestead outside of a Varium mining colony. The Kiffar Clans were at peace, with no inter Clan war having taken place for a least a generation. It is not known if Grippa had any siblings, although it is likely as Kiffar men are allowed to take more than one wife. Grippa was taught hand to hand combat and the use of various weapons from a very early age, as is customary for young Kiffar males. It was a time of prosperity and peace, with some describing the time as sendo abachina, meaning calm time in the Kiffar language. At this time the Planet Kiffex was nominally ruled by the Rebel Alliance, although they held little sway over the day to day politics of Kiffex as the planet was in Avance Coalition space. These years of Grippa's youth are very sketchy with not much known of his early life.

Turmoil

Year 7-10

Kiffex experienced great political turmoil and intrigue when the crime syndicate Black Sun took control of the New Republic, which was the political body formed from the original Rebel Alliance. Black Sun systematically set about bringing various planets under their direct control as they sought to come out from the shadows. Kiffex, being mainly a New Republic penal colony, was targeted ruthlessly by Black Sun, and they sent agents to consolidate control of the planet and her resources for their own twisted needs. Trandor, Grippa's father, is known to have rallied inter Clan support to try to fight Black Sun, with many great Kiffar warriors being assassinated and killed during this time. With Kiffar warriors used to open combat, and having no experience in subterfuge, a guerilla war ensued. After just two short years the Clans that had refused to give in to Black Sun demands decided to leave, as did the first wave of the Clan Rinae a generation before. The family Warpath scattered across the galaxy so as to conceal there whereabouts and begin new lives. Many became mercenaries and soldiers of fortune. Grippa found no honour is this and sought a different direction.

The Galactic Empire

Year 11

Grippa took a civilian transport from Kiffex to the Imperial metropolised planet of Vakkar and headed straight for an Imperial recruitment office. Upon arriving Grippa was sent to the Imperial Academy; where it cannot be said he excelled in his studies. Grippa is said to have excelled in his martial skills, especially hand to hand combat and the art of pugilism. Whilst training at the Academy Grippa learnt that the head of his Clan, Icarus Carinae, was also a member of the Imperial Army holding the rank of a non-commissioned officer. Grippa is known to have sought out his liege leader and asked to be returned to the fold. Icarus asked Grippa to submit himself to the will of the Emperor above all else, including the Clan. Grippa agreed and was happy to learn of others from the Clan who had made the decision to follow Emperor Vodo Bonias.
