The Imperial Nationalised Corporations, also commonly referred to as Nationalised Factions (NATs), are the industrial powerhouses behind the might that is the Galactic Empire. Throughout the history of the Empire there have been various organisations branded as NATs, each with their own area of expertise in the field of industry, for example the current Imperial Mining Corporation and its role in providing raw materials to the Empire and its citizens.

Black Star Corporation

The Black Star Corporation was a former Nationalised Faction of the Galactic Empire and member of the Imperial Industrial and Commerce Council in the early years of the Galactic Civil War. The faction served the primary purpose of providing top of the range ships for Imperial service, whilst also undertaking a research and development role to increase the functionality and ability of Imperial vessels. The faction largely based its operations out of the Farfin Sector, and in particular the Bilbringi system of which former leader and owner of Black Star Corporations, Victor von Ismay also served as the system governor. When Moff Ismay retired as CEO he retained ownership of the faction but passed on the main leadership role to Daiel DeCor.

Bothan Blasting Corporation

History

The Bothan Blasting Corporation was formed in Year 9 Day 18 as a production faction with a focus on mining in Bothan Space. It sprung from the former Bothawui Mining, when the New Imperial Order's (NIO) 'Kiner Corporation' saw an opportunity in a dying company that had once served Bothan Space in the times of the Republic, taking over control and rebranding it as the Bothan Blasting Corporation after a 3 year long economic rivalry. For the duration of the Third Imperial Civil War the company served as an economic driver of the NIO, but following the reintegration of the NIO and Galactic Empire it became apparent that having two mining factions in the form of the Bothan Blasting Corporation and Cloud City was inefficient. A project was undertaken to merge the two companies by CEOs Norrec Morussian and Darius Morettius, which was achieved In Year 11 Day 104 as all mining operations fell under the banner of Cloud City, but with the overarching name of Imperial Resource Extractions.

Organisation

Bothan Blasting Corporation was led by a Chief Executive Officer, of whom a number of notable Imperials served in the position, including Ralic Feali, Charles Slayden and Darius Morettius. Under the CEO were two directors who led the respective divisions of Transportation and Extraction. The Transportation Division was tasked with the movement and delivery of raw materials across the galaxy in a timely and efficient manner. On the other side of operations, the Expansion Division dealt with the development of mining activities, namely seeking out new veins, the construction of mining cities, and the mining of raw materials themselves.

The motto of the company, "Bothan Blasting Corporation. We Get Every Last Bit.", served true to the corporations spirit and dedication to serving the New Imperial Order and later the Galactic Empire, helping both to continue to grow and expand, and spread the Imperial message and way of life across the galaxy.

Cloud City was once a mining corporation with a turbulent history filled with lootings, mergers and civil wars. Through the course of its life it served various loyalties, most notably as one of the Nationalised Factions of the Galactic Empire, but also as an independent entity and sections have been attributed to the founded of the Infinite Empire. The motto of the faction has also changed a number of times, with 'Times have changed' serving as a fitting description of the history, whilst 'A place to live and work' captures how the nature of Cloud City never changed from being a mining faction, despite all those who controlled it until its eventual disbanding and rebranding as the Imperial Mining Corporation In Year 13.

History

In the times of the Republic Cloud city was established by a Devaronian male called Paraic of Argoth, and served as a small provider of Tibanna gas in the backwaters of the galaxy. It was often regarded as having a shady background due to the decision to keep Cloud City out of the influence of the Mining Guild, which was further perpetuated by the reputation of the city as a trade hub for several corporations of various corruptness. This reputation was cemented in Year 3 when a former disgraced Imperial Admiral with links to the then criminal Black Sun, by the name of Lady Price, was appointed as the administrator of the City-Organisation for a short period of time. Following her, a period of uncertainty and unorganisation ensued as the company saw a slew of leaders come and go, including some notable Imperials of the time such as Moff Jake Kiltar and Minister Gabriella Storm.

This period came to an end in Year 6, Day 64 when former Moff Uther Von Kaldreon bought the company and merged it with his own Blue Sabre Transportations, becoming known as 'Cloud City and BST' which served as the main mining faction for the Galactic Empire. This arrangement lasted until Year 8 when a dispute regarding material rights saw Uther loot the company of anything he could get his hands on and leave to form his own government. The former naval officer and pirate Orphaea Imperium was requested to help restore what was left, which he took up. Over the course of six months the company was re-established as a functioning mining corporation for the Galactic Empire throughout efforts of a huge recruitment drive, and assistance of the great wealth of the Empire. Plans to further the development of the company by building up its own planet alongside Centarra Mining (who took up the reins as raw material suppliers during Cloud City's turmoil) were also proposed to Imperial High Command, but were quickly abandoned following the untimely assassination of Quard Ithan.

A number of CEOs held the reins of Cloud City in the ensuing years, allowing the company and the Empire to flourish with a constant supply of raw materials. In Year 10, Cloud City would get its last CEO in this form when Norrec Morussian took over the company, which coincided with re-integration of the New Imperial Order and the Galactic Empire and the merger of Cloud City and the NIOs Bothan Blasting Corporation. In Year 11 Day 104 Morussian was appointed CEO of the new Company under the banner of Cloud City, but with the overarching face of Imperial Resource Extractions. Morussian requested that Darius Morettius be allowed to continue on as Deputy CEO, which was granted and subsequently saw the first time in the history of the Ministry of Industry where two Deputy Directors were part of the same Nationalised Company.

The story of Cloud City finally came to an end in Year 13, when on Day 226 it was finally rebranded as the Imperial Mining Corporation.
