Early Life

Growing up, Roa was never really looked after by anyone. He had no contact with his parents and was not the best at finding friends. At 13, Roa eventually started working with a crime boss named Katari Mun, selling black-market weapons to the people of Corellia. He happened to work a lot with a 25-year-old Correllian named Scout Elwood. Although they didn't always get along, they learned to enjoy each other's company and eventually became partners. Scout even taught Roa how to use a blaster. On Roa's 14th birthday, there weren't any big celebrations, but Roa ended up getting a black market issue DD6 with a hologram message from Scout. The next day, Katari and his men put up wanted posters of Scout. They were accusing him of stealing weapons from Katari Black Market Services. Roa started packing what little things he needed and headed for the starport. Roa was eventually able to sneak onto a ship heading off-world through the cargo hold. As Roa sat down with the rest of the passengers, he stared out the window, mesmerized by all the stars, the feeling of flying, and the endless space of the galaxy waiting to be explored. That's when Roa decided that someway, somehow. He was going to be a pilot.

Arriving at the Imperial Academy

Ten years after Roa left Corellia, he made a living using scraps to repair damaged vehicles for people. He even fixed a couple of cloak shape fighters and even a few pod racers. Although he enjoyed helping people, he still longed to fly amongst the stars. If he wasn't spending his free time watching pod races, he was flipping through books of all different kinds of ships. One day he found a magazine containing Imperial issue Starfighters. Intrigued, Roa started going through it and was amazed at the complexity and design of the Imperial Ships. He loved everything from the series of Twin Ion Engine fighters to the massiveness of the Super Star Destroyers. That's when Roa knew he would join the Imperial Navy. There was just one problem. He didn't know where to start. He started asking around and finally found that a guy was looking to hire someone for a couple of jobs and would even give someone a surplus starfighter if they did good enough. After getting gear and blasting monsters for a couple of days, Roa finally got his prize. It wasn't much, but a prototype surplus hyperdrive installed on it would instantly send Roa anywhere in the galaxy. However, there was another problem, which planet would he go to? After a bit more roaming, Roa finally found a booth where candidates signed up for the Imperial Academy on Prakith. After signing up, Roa got the coordinates he needed and got clearance to arrive at Prakith. Using the surplus hyperdrive, Roa arrived instantly and was cleared to land at the Starport Bastion, not far from the academy. As he landed, Roa took a deep breath and said, "Alright, this is it. Can't screw this up now."
