Amne Zailyn
Amne, the only child of Lydia Zailyn and smuggler Rohlan Dermot, was born in the forested city of Farenth, Lorell. Kenna Nikoris, Lydia's best friend, was like a second mother to Amne. Watching Kenna slowly waste away as she succumbed to cancer was the most difficult experience of Amne's young life. Kenna died when Amne was twelve, and Lydia adopted Kenna's orphaned daughter Cecily. Lydia then moved her family across the continent to a suburb of the Northen Ocean. At the age of seventeen, Amne started studying at a distinguished university on Hapes, wishing to enter the Civil Service. There, she became acquainted with the free-spirited Dianthe Tal'e. Dianthe challenged Amne's misandry and humanocentrism, introducing her to concepts from outside her middle-class Hapan world. (more...) |
