Byss is the home planet for the Abyssin race. It is a harsh but sustainable environment with water being the scarcest resource and lava being the most abundant. Yet travelers across the galaxy travel light years to visit the planet in hopes of enslaving the local populace in order to exploit their significant survivability.
Weather and Climate
Byss is a hot, arid, and harsh environment. While breathable, there is little to no rain and the deserts and lava make the planet undesirable for settlement. Due to these harsh conditions on the planet it has caused the evolution process to create creatures that can not only survive but thrive on this world. With no moons orbiting the planet there is no tidal occurrences, therefore any water that is on the planet is either below the surface or lies stagnate in place.
Species
The Abyssin race is a fascinating specimen of evolution. The Abyssins have a single slitted eye with twin lenses and dual focal planes allowing them to have a degree of depth perception. They are tall with long muscular limbs. The Abyssins have a regenerative ability that has never been seen in other known sentients. They can actually consume their body mass and rebuild damaged cells, making them seem super-human. The Abyssin people are nomadic and often fight with other tribes over sources of water.

Exploitation of the Species
The Abyssin race are one of the most exploited races within the galaxy. Their super-human traits make them ideal for combat oriented organizations. Traders, Mercenaries, and slavers have all traveled to Byss to exploit the Abyssins for their own greedy endeavors. Scientists have abducted children and adults for research of the races regenerative cells, hoping to develop new medicine and combat stimulants for their own purpose. The Abyssin race are nomadic and have no extensive education of the Galaxy or other worlds. This lack of intelligence allows them to become vulnerable to the exploits that the galaxy holds.
