Josef 'Sarge' DeLaurel is a Staff Flight Sergeant currently serving in the Imperial Navy. He joined the Navy after a personal reformation, following years of gang warfare, illegal goods smuggling, drug dealing and other misdemeanour's. Having served staunchly for some time he has gained a reputation for blind rage and a no nonsense regard to discipline as well as a fanatical loyalty to the Emperor.

Childhood
Josef was born on Coruscant, widely considered the centre of the civilised galaxy. Coruscant 9, the city he hails from, however is a undercity slum district and he was born, the eldest of two, into a life of crime and gang warfare. Both his parents were gang members but this itself paints an unjust picture. Both his parents were honourable people, according to their clan loyalties, fighting for the things they believed in and as a small child Josef was greatly sheltered from the worst effects of the tribal-like violence.
There are many customs and ideals that vary between the different 'Clans' as the under-city gangs calls themselves. The sheltering of small children from the effects of the Clan feuds was traditional in the Abyssus Ferrum Clan and as such Josef and his brother Jaceb were given care and education, as well as physical training to prepare them for the next, more brutal, period of their lives as a 'colts'.
