Isthikk Vihr is a Wookiee male and current recruit of the Galactic Empire. A native of the wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, Ishtikk spent the majority of his early life as a wandering mechanic for hire, past events having made his place among his people on Kashyyyk untenable. Eventually, Ishtikk grew tired of the life of a freelancer and enlisted with the Galactic Empire - a move that irrovacably and finally severed his ties with his homeworld, clan and family.

Biography

Early Life

Ishtikk Vihr was born within the dense planetwide forests of Kashyyyk on Day 100 of Year -20. His Clan enjoyed a prominent position within the Wookiee hierarchy of the region and as such Ishtiik was raised to assume a position of relative power when he came of age, a pathway to the role of a ranking clan warrior and ambassador already predetermined for him. Through rigorous conditioning and ritual trials the young Wookiee attained a proficiency in both armed and unarmed combat, though much to the chagrin of his mentors within the clan he gravitated more to technical pursuits.

Oftentimes Ishtikk would neglect more martial studies for the sake of tinkering with the numerous pieces of technology his clan had acquired over the years. Nevertheless when he came of age he was able to successfully complete the blooding and hunting rituals that marked his ascendance to full adulthood, thereby assuming the responsibilities expected of him within the clan. Thrust into the limelight, Ishtikk rather reluctantly committed himself to the trials and tribulations of being a vanguard and envoy for clan Vihr.

Exile

Early into his role within the clan hierarchy a situation arose whereby an injured human surveyor found himself stranded in the village over which clan Vihr presided. Deprived of food and water due to several days of wandering and cut off from his compatriots, the surveyor wandered into the treetop sanctuary in a near delirious state. Unarmed and starving, the man posed no threat to the village. The village elders however staunchly advocated for the summary execution of the wanderer, their hatred for the Galactic Empire deeply ingrained in them and poisoning their minds to the extent that they took all human outsiders to be Imperial agents. Troubled by their thirst for blood and the dishonour inherent in striking down an unarmed, starving being who posed no threat, Ishtikk rallied a small faction within the village to advocate for providing the wanderer with food and shelter, at least for a time.

As the surveyor lay in a fitful exhausted slumber, secreted away in the medicine hut of the village, Ishtikk fought his case with the village elders. Words became heated, with the elders besmirching Ishtikk's status as a warrior and decrying his loyalty to the clan. The confrontation escalated to the point that they insulted not only himself, but his family as well. Ambara, the most vehement elder, rose from his seat during the climax of the counsel, making to leave the hall and kill the surveyor himself - his hatred for the wanderer and all he stood for so virulent that he deigned to do the deed himself.

Ishtikk, already enraged by the insults leveled at him and his family made to stop Ambara from leaving the village hall. The series of events that followed were but a blur to Ishtikk, his rage clouding his perception of events. What was clear after the dust settled was that Ambara was left severely injured and worse, these injuries had been inflicted by Ishtikk's claws. A severe taboo in Wookiee society the act of mindless violence shocked Ishtikk himself once he came to his senses. The repercussions for this act were immediate and severe. The other elders branded Ishtikk a Madclaw and exiled him from the village - an act that even his previous supporters rallied behind, such was the severity of his transgression.

Claws still caked in the blood of Ambara, Ishtikk left the village immediately, all but numb and in shock at the turn of events. In his fugue he all but forgot about the cause of the confrontation, that being the wandering surveyor whose fate Ishtikk never learned.

Wandering Years and Enlistment

Through a corporate outpost on Kashyyyk some distance away from his home village Ishtikk was able to negotiate passage away from his homeworld on the promise of offering his services as a shipboard mechanic. Mired in sorrow and pain, the Wookiee made to get as far away from Kasyyyk as possible. Over the next several years he made good on this ambition by moving from assignment to assignment, the leaden weight of exile weighing upon him all the while.

Eventually, the this pain subsided to become a dull longing for a home he knew he could never return to. Becoming despondent at his lack of direction in the galaxy, Ishtikk made the decision to join the vaunted great adversary of his people in order to finally sever all ties to them in an attempt to find closure and peace. To this end, he enlisted with the Galactic Empire intending to find a new purpose in life and perhaps finally leave the past where it belonged.

Ishtikk was duly accepted into Imperial service, his recruitment officer being somewhat bemused by the Wookiee that had wandered into the local recruitment office but nevertheless facilitating his enlistment. Having honed his talents as an engineer over the years he eagerly took to his studies within the Imperial Academy with the intention of joining the Ministry of Industry.
