Torin Dietus is a Chief Master Sergeant in the Imperial Navy. Growing up the second son of a Coruscani trader, he was expected to pursue a life of trade or politics. Seeking adventure and with a great desire to see the galaxy, he instead chose to enroll in the imperial academy and start a highly successfull career in the Imperial Navy.
Character History
Early Life
Torin grew up as the second son of a small trade family on the imperial capitol of Coruscant. His childhood was normal by the standards of the capitol. In school he was found to be intelligent and quick-witted but he lacked the necessary commitment to really shine, always more interested in girls and having fun than studying. After basic education his family and friends all expected him to study finance or politics, as was typical for young men of his background. Torin himself didn't feel much either way about his future, and started on an Interplanetary Economics class at the University of Coruscant.
After half a year at the university however, Torin began to feel trapped. The university was just the same studying, partying and social events that had occupied his entire life. Fearing that the Coruscant trade community would dominate his entire life and trap him as it did the rest of his family, Torin dropped out of the university with a sudden desire to get away from the everyday life of the capitol and see the galaxy. After leaving he went straight to an Imperial Navy recruitment stand and signed up for the Imperial Academy.
Academy
The academy was a completely new experience for the young and easygoing Dietus. Early mornings, hard discipline and strict orders were almost unknown to him, but fighting through the first weeks he found himself not only coping, but actually enjoying the change of pace. Finally finding his topics interesting and relevant to his new future, he found himself actually working hard for the first time in his life. And to his slight surprise, he found himself excelling. Under the great guidance of professor Markus Saretti he would graduate with honors from the academy, ready for the life of a crewman in the Imperial Navy.
