Born the son of a Banker and Nurse, Hawke has always been a little laid back. His father, James, grew up during the Clone Wars, which had a great effect on his life. His parents could easily tell the Republic was eroding away. The gross mismanagemant of the Bureaucracy caused them to become Separatists, though they hid their feelings for years. With the rise of the promising Galactic Empire, they saw the government they had hoped for. It would provide stability, order, and prosperity. Their only son was at an age where he understood what was happening, but was still too young to form an opinion on the affair. With encouragement from his parents, James became a staunch supporter of the Empire. One day, he and some friends went to a small bar after a long workday. However, a small, drunken band of sympathizers were shouting praise for the Rebels. No sooner than James and his coworkers arrived, the local authorities, who were summoned by the bartender, quickly arrived on the scene and arrested the vagabonds. As they were being hauled away, one of James's friends made a resentful remark in the direction of the criminals. One of them quickly lashed out with a drunken kick, somehow managing to break the banker's hand. James and his posse rushed the stricken man to a hospital, where James would meet Ann, a young intern with ambitions of becoming a nurse. The two quickly fell in love. James's fondness of the Empire was imparted into the Truden children at birth. The most common stories told in the house, were not nursery rhymes, or fairy tales(which were still told very often), but stories of mighty Star Destroyers and nimble TIE-Fighters, millions of Stormtroopers and towering AT-ATs. The Truden Children all became devout followers of the Empire at a very young age. At school, Hawke and his friends all wanted to serve in the Imperial Military once they graduated. Most of them decided they would enlist in the Navy. But Hawke didn't much like the idea of sleeping for four hours, jumping in a fighter, zipping through the teeth of lasers and dodging missles, just to get four more hours of sleep before launching again. Hawke decided to join the Army. He knew the beings on the ground would flee from the legions of Stormtroopers and mammoth walkers. He wouldn't need to worry about facing foes that were just as good as he, with weapons almost equal to his own. Hawke wanted to never fire a shot. He wanted the enemy to surrender at the mere sight of the approaching Imperials. His grandparents had the desire for a stable life. Hawke wanted to protect others with the same desire. As the Navy lights up space, someone needed to protect the billions of people on the ground from evil, maniacal terrorists. A champion of justice. Tranquility. Prosperity. Hawke chose the Imperial Army.
