Raffael's childhood was very tough, when it comes to discipline. Karl, especially, taught him well about hierarchy, raising him in the same military way that he was. With his father as a ship designer, Raffael grown up hearing about ships almost everytime, and also looking to the designs and preparations. It wasn't a coincidence that the little boy quickly got fascinated by the ships and how they work; Karl, when talking about his job, used to get excited and talk in a very energic way, and fascinated everyone that listens to him. Raffael never really understood how to design and build them, but the funcionality was kinda easy to him. At least on the theory.

He spent all his training time from 14 to 16 years old in what his father called ' basic physical training ' that, in his opinion, was necessary to every man, especially the military. The physical training was more focused on running; Karl used to say that it was the more effective way of training the physical body, since it basically helps everything, however, he also used to do push-ups. After 2 years training his physical body and without much real evolution - at least, compared to the time he spent training.

As a teen, from 15 to 16 years, Raffael used to train 5 times a week and had 2 day offs. During his day offs, he used to hang around the city, and it didn't took too long for him to make a little fame around his name; not the best type of fame, however. Most people throught he was strange, because of the excess of sarcasm and jokes - some of them, dirty jokes to women. He had grown into a very handsome man by the ladies view, with much help from the physical train, so he could actually make such kind of joke.

Clearly, despites his military raise, Raffael still had his 'own sense of humor' and joking was his method of having fun. However, he never made that with his father, or during any trainment; it was like a complete change of personality. He could joke as much as he want during his day offs, but, during his work, he could never think less about joking.

At the end of his trainment, his father actually engaged him in a physical fight. According to the fight rules, you could use any weapon you find close, and if you wanted to give up, you could.

Well, Karl showed no mercy with his son, really getting nearby weapons to hurt him. In the end, Raffael and Karl were both exausted, and both gave up. At this time, Karl accepted that his son had the same problem with physical body as him.

When Raffael completed his basic physical train - the fight was the last step - Karl soon noticed the interest that Raffael had about ships. Karl, who never liked to pilot ships, could never serve the Navy while young, but that was an option to Raffael; a way to serve without the need of physical strenght at all.

Raffael started to pilot as soon as he finished the physical train. And then, he felt that he could be piloting forever, and would never get tired - even if certainly would run out of fuel. It was clear that Raffael had some kind of natural talent about piloting ships - maybe because he was raised hearing about ships and how do they work. The point is that he finally found joy on his train; definitely, if he could chose, he would like to serve the Imperial Navy. Until now, despite girls, piloting was the best experience on his life. And, of course, Karl took advantage of that.

His life, from 16 to 18 years - the minimum required to enlist on the Empire - was, again, 5 times a week of train, 2 dayoffs. The point of the dayoffs were really not to get tired of training and so don't take full advantage of it. It worked.

Since the small ship that he was piloting had no weapons, Raffael could only train his control of the ship, and sharped that skill as much as he could. However, issues occurred, of course; there are always issues, everywhere. The ship broke. But Karl, instead of paying someone to fix it, decided that it would be a nice opportunity to teach Raffael how to fix ships as well. Raffael tried to fix the ship with his father lessons, but it was a disaster; computers were more interesting than that, an interest that he found during one of his day offs. With this final disaster, Karl gave up and fixed the ship himself. The next 2 years, Raffael would focus all his available time during his 5 train days in your pilot training.

With 18 years, no hair at all and a well-made beard, Raffael finished his pilot training and enlisted himself in the Empire, feeling ready to serve the Imperial Academy.
