A blonde, proud Corellian, eager to be a part of the Imperial Military and follow the footsteps of her parents.

Character History

Childhood

Sophie was born in Year - 5, Day 38 at a sizeable estate in the rural parts of Corellia. Her parents were the veterans of the Corellian Security Force that retired after a couple decades of service and sought a simpler, more peaceful life. Her father Joseph was one of the most daring pilots back in his day - discovering three new hyperspace lanes for the use of Corellian pilots and played a major role in defeating anti-Imperial insurgency on Year -11. Her mother Sylvia was a quiet, meek woman that served as a Field Nurse and aided injured soldiers through out the Core as a part of the Corellian Expeditory Forces that were sent to assist the Empire in the subjugation of the anti-Imperial planets.

Sophie was a happy, playful child during her early years, with a keen interest in machinery that she picked up after seeing her father tinker with the various speeders that scurried around in their estate. It was a simple, idyllic life for the Conrads and they had grand hopes for their daughter whose shining eyes and blonde hair hid a curious and active mind. As imperial Loyalists, Joseph and Sylvia took an active role in the pro-Imperial factions in the Corellian politics, celebrating the victories of the Empire with lavish parties that made up some of the earliest memories of Sophie years later. However, their lives were changed when Sylvia fell ill during a flu epidemic in Year 1. Suddenly the beautiful, wise mother that was the foundation of their family unit became a sickly, weak shell of herself and in a few months passed away tragically despite the efforts of Joseph to procure bacta and medical droids to help her cure. Depressed, Joseph could not handle the burden of the memories of the happy family life that the farm estate reminded him and started a new life as a long-haul pilot in a merchant fleet after selling the land and sending Sophie off to a boarding school in Coronet City. He died a few years later after a faulty hyperdrive threw his freighter into a sun in the Mid Rim.

Education

The boarding school that Sophie attended was not known for its academic strength but rather for the tempers of its hot-shot students that broke the law as well as speed records on the snub fighters. But Sophie shone despite all difficulties, becoming the valedictorian of her class at the primary school graduation and earning a scholarship to the Corellian Security Force Academy in Year 7. Despite the curriculum’s noted focus on piloting and spacecraft engineering, Sophie was interested on the Theory classes and became noted at the young age of 16 by writing a detailed treatise of the Empire’s Outer Rim campaigns and tactics used by various Moffs and Admirals. Despite her humble background and modest means, her intellect and interest in battle tactics intrigued the Moff of the Corellian sector, who sponsored her as a candidate for the Prefsbelt Fleet Academy - the centre of Imperial Navy’s training program for potential officer candidates.

In Prefsbelt, Sophie spent countless hours fine-tuning her skills both fighter and capital ship piloting. Despite her Corellian heritage, the practicalities of flight had always been challenging for her, given the lack of her piloting experience. Years of practice turned Sophie into a formidable pilot for all kinds of vessels. Graduating at the top 5% of her class, she was assigned to the Imperial Academy in Prakith to start her service.

Service

Sophie joined the Imperial Academy on Year 19, Day 38, starting her career in the Galactic Empire.
