Early Life
Gnaeus was born into the upper-middle class Cato family. For generations the Catos have served in the military of the Old Republic. The advent of the Galactic Empire was embraced by Gnaeus' father (also called Gnaeus), and the patriarch transferred the loyalty and dedication of the Catos to the Empire. Raised on Coruscant, Gnaeus attended pro-Empire private schools and did a tour with the Coruscant planetary law enforcement before applying and being accepted to the Imperial Academy.
Military Service

Sometime after coming of age, Gnaeus attended the Imperial Academy. Passing with nearly perfect marks, he was awarded the Basic Graduate with Honors award, and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Imperial Army.
