Based in a small, otherwise unremarkable sector of Rachuk lies the United Coalition of Rachuk. This archaic and disorganized rabble views itself as the sovereign government of the Rachuk Sector. In the past this may have been an accurate view but recent events show that the Coalition has become nothing more than a puppet state for the rest of the Galactic Alliance.
History
Founded by a roaming band of mercenaries and brigands who wondered the galaxy until they came across a lonely backwater planet on a lonely backwater system. This group of rogues quickly established an outpost in the sector. From this small outpost the "Dominion" as the liked to call themselves, expanded and made vast territorial claims in the sector until their influence expanded over most of that sector. It should be noted that the sector was largely uninhabited save a few prospectors and Ithorians. In light of this, the territorial expansion of the Dominion is really an unremarkable accomplishment.
After a certain amount of time passed and the Dominion grew in the Rachuk sector, it was declared that they would no longer be known as the Dominion but instead the United Coalition of Rachuk or UCR.
After the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire, The UCR would side with the self styled "Galactic Alliance". The real reasons for this brash action by the UCR remains unclear but it is believed that the Alliance made several donations to the UCR in the form of ships and military aid.
Since joining the ranks of the Galactic Alliance though, the Coalition has gained little other than a few outdated or outclassed space craft. The influence of the Coalition in the politics of the Alliance is unremarkable at best. Indeed it is widely believed that the Falleen, the main financiers of the Alliance, have more influence in Rachuk than the Coalition does.
