Summary
Xavier Hawke is a Chiss from Csilla and current Lieutenant in the Imperial Navy. He sides tends to prefer the aspects of analysis, planning, and tactics. He has in the past developed several naval tactics mentioned in dispatches. He used to be a member of the New Imperial Order until its merger with the Galactic Empire.
How I Became and Imperial
Not even the monstrous Sarlac from the desert wastelands of Tatooine could have been even more isolated than I was during the days of my youth. Even during my schooling I never excelled at making friends. As a personality trait, introversion would have been an understatement. I barely scraped along on the barest of personal upkeep. I performed the most rudimentary of errand tasks around my home town despite my self taught education on naval tactics and procedures. I had no idea an ambitious Chiss was even supposed to get started in life. I had no one to blame but myself. I nearly cursed myself each night. I would go to bed after a twelve hour work day under the poorest and coldest conditions on Csilla. Thanks to my lack of friend-making skills, my only hopes rested on that of good luck or force of will.
Everything appeared to me to be completely out of my grasp including my ultimate dream. What was my ultimate dream you might ask? Captaining a Star Destroyer and joining battle alongside a fleet of my friends and allies. At the time, neither of those things seemed very possible to me. I've always admired the Star Destroyer as a symbol of power, and I wanted to seek out the empire because of it. Its angular shape pointing intimidatingly at the enemy. Goosebumps would occasionally spring up when I looked at an old propaganda poster poster I had of a group of three Star Destroyers bearing down on the viewer. At the bottom in big Helvetica print gold font it said. "Sign up with the Imperial Navy! Defenders of order and Peace throughout the galaxy!" Ever since I was a child I had owned that poster. It was a gift from a distant relative on far away planet I would sometimes dream of one day riding or even captaining one I pictured myself overlooking the vast array of space, watching the pilots dog fight between the spread of enemy capital ships off in the distance and ordering the command that would claim victory on that day and see the entirety of the enemy ships destroyed or turning about face to scurry off and hyperspace into the farthest recesses of the Outer Rim to hide from my brilliant tactics and maneuvering. Sadly, with the Empire's status on non-humans, I figured that I had no recourse for progression, and depression sat in on me in light of a sense of deep hopelessness I felt. I hoped deeply in my hearth that eventually that might change.
Somehow, I don't know if some greater power or the Force or fortune was looking down upon me, but I somehow came across a faction called the "New Imperial Order." A naval officer by the name of Senki actually took the time to make an inquiry into my status. He landed and rescued me from my doldrums on Csilla in his Firespray. Senki introduced me to his faction called the "New Imperial Order" and that they were trying to encourage reforms within the larger Galactic Empire. He offered me a position in the navy doing what I thought I was prepared to do albeit on a smaller scale. I was certainly surprised at this turn of events. I had no idea to what I could credit my good fortune, but I was sure thankful for my new circumstances, even a little suspicious that it might have been too good to be true, as if I could wake up from the dream at any moment. I was perhaps shocked most of all that he would even take interest in a lowly Chiss such as myself given everything I had heard from other Chiss on my home planet about how the Imperials used to treat non-humans. I had no idea whether or not the stories were factual or overblown. Even if the tales were true, with such a generous offer, how could I refuse? It was the first step on a road I thought might ultimately lead to my dream.
After some training under the vigilant eyes of Wummer, I was able to grasp the method and pattern of things, and I was appointed the task of going out into space and searching out souls like myself and offering them the same opportunities I was afforded. I worked my way up progressively from a simple X-TIE to a Y-wing for scouting, to a larger transport ship and finally my dream was partially assigned when for a brief period I was able to do my missions from the seat of a Victory Star Destroyer. On top of that I made a vast number of new friends, allies, and acquaintances, and I feel that I grew very much closer to my friends in the New Imperial Order. Perhaps I even had more friends in my first days in the NIO than I had ever made on Csilla.
