Ranner Family History
The current Ranner family is a union of two of the older and aristocratic families on Coruscant the Marns and the Ranners. Like many of the aristocratic families on the planet they view themselves as an elite social order and only really intermarry with other similar families. For many years both families were rather hostile toward each other as they both competed for similar business contracts and similar political appointments during the time of the Republic. These disagreements were even known to become violent on several occasions leading to high profile assassination on both sides as the different houses battled for supremacy. Eventually both of the family patriarchs having seen many of their progeny killed in the resulting blood feuds determined that continuing hostility would result in either destruction of both families' assets or a government sanctions on family businesses. The only way to prevent further conflict would be a permanent alliance of the two houses. This was achieved sometime before the founding of the Empire when Aleenia Ingrid Marns the eldest Marns daughter was married to Jaccub Tybalt Ranner the eldest Ranner son. This resulted in the creation of the current Ranner house which is one of the wealthiest and influential families on Coruscant. The Ranner family itself has a long history of military and political involvement with both sides of the family having taking part in the Republics military and political process. This tradition of public and military service is expected by the family and has resulted in the children's education focusing heavily on preparing them to carry on in these fields. Jaccub Tybalt Ranner himself served with distinction in the Republic and has prepared his sons to follow in the same way.

Appearance
Marcus is a well built human male in his early twenties. Marcus is slightly below average height but well proportioned with broad shoulders and an athletic build suggestive of an individual who has spent a good deal of time working out. Has an aristocratic face with sharp distinct features and a rough looking visage of an individual with a lot on his plate. Has a close buzzcut and long sideburns that go to just below his ears. When not in uniform and on long leave has a rugged unshaven face it a distinct goatee that he has refused to shave. Ordinarily found in military styled uniforms similar to Imperial uniforms when not on duty. Has a small scare on the top right of his lip where he had it split open in a duel.
Personality
Marcus has a complex psychological profile that many would find surprising. Normally when encountering people Marcus displays a rather juvenile attitude joking with others and acting like an individual who is far out of his own depth. This may include him acting like he doesn't know what to do or his jovial attitude towards many subjects. This attitude springs from Marcus' training which has taught him to let others underestimate his abilities until it is necessary to reveal them. Marcus also has a strong belief in chivalry and the role of a gentleman. This has created in him a strong sense of duty and honor similar to times of old. Unlike other Imperial Aristocrats Marcus believes highly in merit believing that everyone should only get what they merit through work.
Biography
Early Life
Marcus Ranner was born on Coruscant in the year 9 BGCT to Jaccub and Aleenia Ranner heads of the Ranner Family. Marcus was Jaccub's and Aleenia's fourth child of what would become eight total. As the young child of an aristocratic family Marcus enjoyed an early childhood of luxury and wealth. It was at age three when Marcus began his private schooling by the hands of his own private tutors. Like most aristocratic children his age Marcus' classes included lessons about self defense, sword play, etiquette, diplomacy, firearms, politics, hand to hand combat and military tactics along with the basic courses more common for children his age. These lessons were intended to shape Marcus into a gentleman and a soldier so that when he came of age he would be able to follow in the family tradition of military or political service. One of Marcus' early teachers who would have a profound effect on the young youth was Fran Highler his primary combat instructor and body guard. Fran would spend an enourmous amount of time with the young the Marcus teaching him lessons in combat and teaching the boy about the galaxy as a whole. It was from Fran that Marcus developed his ideas about duty and honor that would continue to shape his life for years to come.
Making a Warrior Soldier
When Marcus turned 13 he was already an accomplished marksman and combat specialist. But Marcus’ father Jaccub wanted him to become even better. Under his father’s direction Marcus was taken to one of the family’s field testing facilities for intensive combat and survival training. When the training was finally over Marcus had become a skilled scout sniper and was highly skilled at evasion and survival techniques. Following the training at the testing facility Marcus traveled with Fran for several years carrying out task for Jaccub. During this period Marcus began to love flying and space in general often commenting on the fact that in space their were no bugs biting him. Marcus spent as much time as possible either flying one of the families ships or in a simulator training up his skills.
High Society
At age sixteen Marcus was told to return to Coruscant to begin another stage in his life. Since his parents wanted him to be "well rounded and a member of high society" they began to send him to meetings, parties, and other functions in order to immerse himself in culture. For Marcus this was a radical shift from what he considered to be "normal." Instead of running through forest trying to evade combat drones and flying starships in less than civilized areas now he was expected to be polite and bow. Marcus struggled with fitting into this new society but was soon taken under the wings of his older sisters Bree and Liviana as well as his older brother Tybalt. They began to show him the ropes of how to fit in with society and more importantly as Tybalt put it "not become a stuck up flop." Marcus learned important lessons from the three of them with his sisters teaching him decorum and etiquette(not to mention how to behave around women and be chivalrous to prevent Tybalt from totally corrupting him) and his brother teaching him how not to get in trouble while having fun. While Tybalt was considered the playboy of the family Marcus soon became the prankster and joker of the group. The four of them soon became a regular sight at parties and other functions.
