He grew much like a normal boy, until about the age of 6, when his father died suddenly of a previously unknown desease. Zardain's mother quit work soon after, and they sank deeper and deeper into poverty. Eventually, they went to live with Zardains grandmother, who was unable to support herself and two others. Zardain managed to keep his mother off the streets, and himself out of foster care, by working odd jobs for the people that lived in the building with them.
