Raised in a family that operated a vineyard, Althalus was instilled with a strong work ethic and a deep sense of civic duty. Inspired by the ideals of stability and justice, he viewed military service as a calling and enlisted in the New Imperial Order upon reaching the minimum age requirement.

Althalus was born on Naboo, in a village on the Rooster Mountain. It's not possible to say that his childhood was happy. He was orphaned at a very early age. He grew up in the strict physical and mental discipline of the Evert Angelus, an ancient warrior order.

He learned some of the most deadly fighting techniques, but he especially excelled in the use of sword. His childhood was also troubled because of a rare disease that has left its mark in the strange color of his eyes. Little is known about his teenage years.

He joined the New Imperial Order as soon as he had  the age and he started his career in the NIO Navy. He served in the different units of NIO Navy. He always showed discipline, ability and leadership. He reached the Officers ranks and he was appointed as Squadron Commander.

New promotions were not far for this competent Officer, who was twice forced to take on senior positions at interim: first as XO and then as FCO itself of the 6th Imperial Fleet.
