- "Ara bless Diggins for creating Stuff."
- — Romolus James Lupine
Romolus James Lupine was a Brigadier General in Imperial Intelligence. He was known by friends and associates alike as Rom. He was born on the planet Corellia and was raised by Henry and Lily Lupine until their deaths when he was 16 years old. Rom was involved in many different careers, but is predominantly known for his intelligence work. He trained with some of the best killers and fighters in the Galaxy. Rom was also a skilled musician and singer who even had a recording contract at one point. He was often seen in various cantinas strumming a guitarra or mandolin or plucking away at a nalargon while singing Corellian lower city ballads. Rom was also a connoisseur of Stuff, a mysterious blue alcoholic brew crafted by his kinsman, Adam Diggins. Rom was killed in action during an intelligence mission on Year 10 Day 203.

Early Life
Rom grew up in the slum districts where he and his mother Lily were victims to Rom's abusive father, Henry. The young Rom had been in and out of trouble his whole life as he was immersed in a life of criminal activity and gang fights. In fact, Rom earned his earliest scars during the gang wars he was in as a youth. At this time in his life he preferred to go by his middle name, James, and was known as "Saint Jimmy" to his his gang mates; Jimmy was taken from his middle name and Saint stuck because he was not only one of the youngest gang members, but could talk his way out of trouble like none of the others and come out smelling like a flower. Gangs were one of the few ways to earn money at his age and Rom may have been inspired to join as a way to help out his family monetarily, especially his mother. At age 16, Rom's killer instincts were already honed when his father savagely stabbed and killed Lily then went after Rom himself. The teen protected himself with the knife he always carried for gang fights, and stabbed his father in the throat and killed him. The local authorities did not effectively investigate the murders and convicted Rom, sentencing him to hard labor in the spice mines on Kessel.
Kessel
The spice mines were both a prison and a death sentence for the convicted youth. On Kessel he labored in shaft 4, a zombie to the life of hard physical work. He spent 7 years as a veritable slave, whipped, beaten and being physically poisoned by the spice-ridden air in the mines. In the 7th year, there was a prisoner riot that spread from shaft 3 all the way across to shaft 7. During this riot, Rom was able to kill, Cobaine, his task-master and guard responsible for all his beatings, In the ensuing chaos, Rom stole a ship and fled to Nar Shaddaa.
Nar ShaddaaNar Shaddaa was the perfect place for a man to get lost. Rom had always been captivated by the tales told about Nar Shaddaa by the spacers who stopped on Corellia. On the gritty and violent planet, Rom lived as his alter ego, Jake Kessel. He kept an apartment in the Corellian section and spent his days clubbing and thieving. One night, he was attacked in a bar by a male wookiee. The fight resulted in the loss of Rom's left eye. The accoster got a knife between the ribs for his troubles. For a time Rom sported three wookiee claw marks and covered his ruined eye with a patch. He saved his money until he could afford to travel to Coruscant. CoruscantRom had always wanted to see "the center of the galaxy" as a kid. He fought for a living in the highly illegal fighting tournaments in the underlevels of Coruscant. He was a frequent winner and that earned him a fair wage, but again life was not trouble free. One night a female Cathar had drunkenly torn up one of the bars he frequented. He was helping her back to her ship in her inebriated state and she moved to hug him in thanks. Instead she savagely dug her claws into his back to rip his spine out. He killed her, but the medical costs made him flat broke. After six years in the tournaments, he finally earned enough money to hire cybernetists and weapon developers to develop replacement eye that glowed red and shot a laser. Rom was also able to afford his first ship, a YT-2000 named Sureshot that made it possible for his safe passage back to Corellia. Galactic EmpireIt is after all these hardships that Rom emerged on the galactic scene. On Corellia he joined the Galactic Empire as a green recruit. The Empire seemed like the best place for him to go and earn an honest wage, but he only stayed on until his training was completed. He left citing that he wasn't cut out for the strictness of military life and he conflicted with the Empire's politics on aliens. He defected and joined the Falleen Federation. Falleen Federation and Smugglers GuildRom joined the Falleen Federation and stayed there for 6 months. He attained the rank of Lieutenant Commander and held the postions of Executive Officer of Naval Task Force 2, Deputy Director of the Falleen Intelligence Bureau, Secretary of Recruitment, and Chief of Cadet Pickup. This is where he met Metuki Ryuujin, a man who influenced and taught him. They grew close enough to be family and Rom considered him his mentor. Rom worked for the Smugglers Guild for his "Uncle" Metuki. Metuki had taught Rom the ropes of intelligence work and Rom was working as a sort of plant in the Falleen Federation just passing on information that would affect Metuki or the Guild. Rom left the Falleen Federation after his assignment was over to work exclusively for the Smugglers Guild. Here he met another mentor, Lance Hawke who was a contracted hire for the Guild and they became fast friends. Lance continued Rom's training in intelligence. He showed Rom the more practical side of things in contrast to Metuki who focused on intelligence gathering and analysis. Lance also taught Rom a lot of fighting techniques, including how to effectively fight Force users. After Rom's Uncle Metuki was killed, he left the Guild and went freelance. FreelanceRom went freelancer and started his own transport company. They delivered ships, vehicles, people, items, weapons, etc. It was during this time that he bought the Sith Lord Isoldor Storm's personal Sentinel ship. Rom freelanced for 5 or 6 months doing intel work on the side and acted as a intelligence broker. One of his frequent contacts was Machkhit, the Director of Directorate Imperial Intelligence. Return to the Galactic EmpireWhen Machkhit needed a new Executive Officer for DII, Rom took the position as Deputy Director with the rank Deputy Minister of DII (C-1). Rom continued his style of hard living while in the Galactic Empire. He was a frequenter of the Imperial Dojo, a sparring venue. During his time there, he was the reigning master despite some serious set backs such as a pierced heart from a battle against an Imperial Army sergeant and a Pyrrhic duel with a new Sith Lord. Hardships were never far from Rom. As a Command level Imperial officer, he was a serious bounty. He was once captured and locked up in a Dreadnaught where his Trandoshan and Noghri capturers would have tortured him to death, had a rescue op helmed by Imperial Army officer Graeda L`Annan and his illicit associate Maverick not prevented it. Rom was killed in action during his placement in II.
