Early life

Asharad Gravis was born on Y-11 D133 on Harpan, in a semi-wealthy family. As the third son of Myria and Isar Gravis, Asharad's early years were marked by frailty and vulnerability. Frequently bullied by stronger children, Asharad found solace and protection in his older brother, Dafan, whose unwavering support became a cornerstone of his childhood. This brotherly care became a natural and essential element of Asharad's life, making the sudden loss of Dafan all the more devastating.

When Asharad turned 10, his older brother joined the Imperial Academy at the Terrestrial Division, driven by a strong sense of idealism and a desire to fight for the people he loved. For Asharad, this meant losing his most significant source of support during a critical period when he needed it most. This marked the worst period of his life, leaving him feeling vulnerable and alone.

By the time Asharad turned 16, his head was filled with stories of his brother’s adventures and distinctions. Dafan's heroic attitude became a role model for Asharad. Determined to follow in his brother’s footsteps but eager to chart his path, Asharad joined the Imperial Academy. However, he chose a different branch—he wanted to explore the universe and serve the Empire in the Imperial Navy.

Imperial Service

After enduring rigorous and comprehensive training at the Imperial Academy, Asharad Gravis graduated and became a member of the Imperial Fleet. As a young pilot, he diligently fulfilled his duties, demonstrating perseverance and competence that did not go unnoticed. Slowly but surely, he climbed the career ladder. Recognizing his accomplishments, the command assigned him to several secret missions aimed at strengthening the Empire. One of Asharad's significant missions was "New Sky," where he and his cousin, Geo Gravis, showcased their skills. This mission, alongside others like [REDACTED] and Operation Fortress, solidified his reputation as a capable pilot and a valuable member of the 6th Imperial Fleet.

His service record, marked by bravery and skill, earned him several promotions. As a Master Flight Sergeant, Asharad was tasked with building one of the many branches of the Imperial concealed operations. However, a routine flight took a perilous turn when his freighter was severely damaged, resulting in serious injuries. He survived miraculously and underwent a series of operations at the Imperial Hospital before slowly regaining his strength.

After a long convalescence, Asharad returned to active duty with the 3rd Imperial Fleet. By Y13, his exemplary service earned him a promotion to Ensign in the 6th Fleet under the command of Captain Faol Sean.

The Bosthirda Mission

Under Captain Faol Sean's command, Asharad took part in a crucial mission to secure the Bosthirda System. This mission was a multi-phase operation designed to establish Imperial control and eliminate enemy forces from the region. The operation's main goal was to ensure complete dominance over the Bosthirda System and secure Bosthirda IV.

The mission began with the Imperial forces gathering and preparing for their deployment. Asharad and his fellow pilots docked their fighters, while army units boarded assigned ships. They then made their way to the Bosthirda System, where the real challenge awaited.

Upon arrival, the fleet's first objective was to secure the space around Bosthirda IV. This involved engaging and neutralizing enemy fighters, disabling, and boarding enemy freighters, and establishing patrols to maintain control. Asharad's role in these early skirmishes was pivotal, as his skill in the cockpit helped ensure the fleet's success in securing the system.

With space secured, the focus shifted to the ground operation. Imperial forces, including Asharad's squadron, provided air support for the troops landing on Bosthirda IV. The initial task was to secure Imperial cities and protect citizens and equipment. Defensive positions were established, and a central command center was set up to coordinate ground operations.

The next phase involved a thorough search of the planet for enemy forces and any illegal activities. Asharad's squadron was tasked with scanning the planet from above, identifying enemy positions, and calling in Tie Bombers to conduct precision strikes. This phase of the mission required meticulous coordination and swift action, which Asharad executed with remarkable efficiency.

The final phase of the operation saw the complete eradication of enemy forces on Bosthirda IV. Once the planet was secured, defensive positions and command posts were handed over to local authorities. The Imperial forces regrouped and prepared for potential further operations in the system.

Asharad's participation in the Bosthirda mission was marked by strategic acumen and unwavering dedication. His leadership and tactical skills were crucial in ensuring the mission's success. The mission's completion marked a significant milestone in his career, showcasing his ability to lead and execute complex operations.

Moving Up the Ranks

Asharad's exceptional performance did not go unnoticed. At the end of his duty with Captain Sean, he was selected as a candidate for the first Elite Wing in the Imperial Fleet—a new elite TIE/in Interceptor unit. This prestigious selection led to his reassignment on Y13 D258 to the 6th group of the 6th Imperial Fleet, where he began working under the command of Lieutenant Commander Dratt Darkstar. This new role represented another significant step in Asharad's career, offering him the opportunity to further hone his skills and prove his mettle in increasingly challenging operations and a series of secretive and challenging missions, including the successful testing of new units. However, the details of these missions remain classified, with only the outcome being made public and one photo of Asharad on the landing pad after the mission.

One notable operation during this period was the "Slave Master" mission. This operation was initiated after a sector plexus communication droid reported a raid by Thalassian slavers on the Dostra system. The city of Etti Prime on planet Thosa had been attacked, with significant bombardments from orbit and subsequent ground raids. The slavers abducted approximately 5,600 human civilians and 234 aliens, utilizing a fleet that included a Kaloth cruiser, a customized Corellian corvette, a Quasar-class cruiser, and several light capital ships.

The mission's first agenda was to secure the system, with capital ships focusing on enemy vessels and fighters aiming for air superiority. Gravis’s squadron played a critical role in this phase, aiding in the establishment of control over the system and securing strategic positions. The 661st Wing was tasked with tracking and neutralizing the slavers and raiders, while the 662nd Wing, including Gravis, focused on securing key installations and preparing for potential threats.

As the operation progressed, sporadic sensor contacts suggested enemy capital ships and satellites in the vicinity. Darkstar’s strategic positioning of the Interdictor's gravity well generators ensured the containment of enemy movements.
