Description

Corellia, populated mostly by humans dubbed Corellians, is a planet with a rich history. Corellians are by their nature adventurers. Although local politicians even until today strongly favor an isolationist style of foreign policy, the innate sense of adventure provides a variety of interactions with outsiders, including the Aqualish-Corellian War in the recent past. Corellian style of lassaize-faire government throughout history gives the Corellian citizens a stereotype of being outlaws, though their acceptance to join the Galactic Empire proved this stereotype false.

Corellia is a beautiful planet with a variety of different landscapes. Landmass consists of two large continents, which are both populated. The capital city of Coronet is a metropolis that boasts some of the finest brewed ales and lagers, the five-star hotels and taverns attracting tourists from all over the galaxy. The bars in the dark alleys, however, are not recommended for the outsiders. Deceit and treachery describe only the surface of what takes place in some of the seedier sections. Other tourist attractions at Coronet include the Coronet City Museum of Art with the complete collection of Venthan Chassus works and the Coronet City Zoological and Botanical Gardens. Corellia University located in Coronet has one of the best Astronautical Engineering programs among all universities in the galaxy.

Corellia is also home to many luxury residences of important political figures or wealthy merchants. Some of these luxurious residences are open to tourist traffic, but most are not. Because of the concentration of the elite class on this planet, there are many hotels on Corellia that are among the galaxy's best. The Grand Corellia, a very high-class hotel found in the center of the sister cities of Coronet, Carrara, and Corona, occupies hundreds of acres of land. Three separate buildings combine to offer guests indoor sports, casino gaming, dance halls, and restaurants manned with some of the galaxy's most talented chefs. While outside of the buildings, there are also many activities available at its pools, hiking trails, or the wild game hunting grounds. Of course, a stay at the Grand Corellia carries a hefty price tag. A night of stay, plus the usual meals and activities, in the famous Imperial Suites of this hotel can cost as much as a typical workers yearly salary.

While the south pole region is formed above a frozen continent, the north pole has no actual land mass. Floating icebergs make seafaring in this region of the high seas especially dangerous in the winter months.

Corellia is perhaps best known for the product of astronautical engineers. Ships designed by engineers of Corellian descent are among some of the most versatile in the galaxy. Ships as the YT-1300, YT-2000, YT-510, and Corellian Corvette, among many others, are some of the highly sought after crafts by both governments and private businesses alike. The Corellian government views engineering education with heavy interest, providing tax-dollar subsidized mathematical programs for school children from a very early age to promote interest in this field. Major ship design and ship building companies from all over the galaxy visit the various universities on the planet of Corellia every year to recruit their top engineering graduates, attracting them with high salaries and generous benefits.

Cities

Coronet City

Coronet City, also known as Corellia City or The Golden City, is the capital and cultural heart of the planet Corellia. Renowned for its bustling spaceport, historic districts, and diverse neighborhoods, Coronet City serves as the political, economic, and industrial hub of the planet. The city is characterized by its mix of ancient architecture, modern infrastructure, and coastal industrial zones.

At the core of the City lies the CorSec Plaza, the central government district. It houses key administrative buildings and is one of the bastions of the Corellian Security Force. The plaza is a symbol of Corellian civic pride and authority.

Situated northwest of the city center, Old Town is the historic heart of Coronet City. With winding streets, ppreserved structured, and cultural landmarks, it reflects the city's rich past before the era of Imperial rule.

Located north of the center, the Teeno Village District—also known as the Teeno Village Sector—is primarily residential.

To the west of the center lie Buckell Center and the Memorial Park. Buckell is the city's vibrant commercial and hospitality hub. The district is home to upscale hotels, business headquarters, and entertainment venues. West of the hotels lies the Memorial Park, a green and serene expanse commemorating Corellia's fallen heroes and historical events. It serves as a peaceful retreat from the urban energy of the East.

Southwest of the center and near the coastline are The Bottoms, an industrial district with a rugged reputation. Once a swampy lowland, it was drained by early shipbuilders to accomodate factories and heavy industry. Today, it remains a vital part of the city's manufacturing base, especially in shipbuilding and freight.

Located directly south of the center, the Coronet Spaceport is one of the largest and oldest spaceports in the Core Worlds. Built centuries before the rise of the Galactic Empire, the port spans the coastal region and handles civilian, commercial, and military traffic. While primarily operated by CorSec personnel, Imperial officers and Stormtroopers are stationed throughout the area to monitor its activity.

To the southeast lie the Santhe Shipyards, also known as the Corellian- or Coronet Shipyards. Once under local control, these facilities were absorbed into Imperial administration following the rise of the Galactic Empire. The shipyards play a key role in the production of various Imperial starships and military vessels.

Finally, to the East is Coronet City's Financial District, a sleek and modern area housing banks, trading hubs, and corporate offices. It is also home to the famed Mangrove Hotel, a symbol of luxury and Corellian hospitality.

Security

On Year 11 Day 311, after series of tests designed to determine the functioning of all vital parts, the activation of the Corellian planetary shield was announced to the Galactic population. The shield protects Corellia from terrorist attacks and criminal incursions. Its function is to not allow material mass to pass its perimeter, thus acting as a protective 'umbrella'.

The shield was activated by Moff Walter Boole during a small opening ceremony that was held at the shield's control center. To a gathered crowd of Imperial dignitaries and Corellian nobles, Moff Boole held a speech. The speech's key points have been paraphrased below:

"The shielding itself is part of a wider plan of protecting all Imperial terrestrial holdings, and to provide Imperial citizens the protection they need in this time of Galactic turmoil. Naturally, the first planets to be shielded should be the most loyal and most vital parts of Imperial space, as Corellia. Corellians living on their home world can now feel safe in their homes, well protected from possible enemy actions. Corellians that earn their daily bread on other worlds can now rest assured that their families are safe from danger, protected by the activated planetary shield.

Due to the operational nature of the shield, and the new planetary regulations, all non-Imperial personnel that seek passage to the planetary surface are to contact the Imperial Diplomatic Corps and Vizier Jarek Sankin, while Imperials should contact directly Moff Boole. stating the reasons of their visit. This is, once again, to protect the planetary population from any unwanted visitors, but also to aid Imperial customs officers at making sure that drugs and other contraband ever reaches the planet. This will, hopefully, reduce the already low crime rate, and give Corellians one less thing to worry about.
"
