Adkhar (INB) - Representatives from the Galactic Empire and Falleen Federation have signed a peace accord today after months of discussions between the two former hostiles. Following several years of conflicts, both governments came to a consensus regarding the state of the Galaxy and agreed to sign an alliance with the intent of providing a safer environment for their citizens.

Citizens of the Galactic Empire have been buzzing with anticipation with the opening of the annual Imperial Ball soon to begin. The Imperial Ball is a traditional military ball held yearly at the Imperial Palace with personnel from all Imperial divisions attending. The event is to occur on Year 11 Day 111. Commander Tao, organizer of the ball, consulted a mystic and it was found that the selected date would be an auspicious day that will bring great fortune to the Empire.

With a modest Fleet escorting the leader of the Falleen Federation, King Bisz met Imperial officials in the capital building of the Dolomar Sector. In a ceremony held on the Imperial planet of Adkhar, King Bisz formally signed the Peace Accord on behalf of the Falleen Federation. The news of the Peace Accord has been met with a high approval rate by citizens of the Federation, many of whom believe that the on-going war between the two governments was counter-productive to the expansion and betterment of the Galaxy. Currently considered the government with the highest population, the Falleen Federation will have the sectors of Sumitra, Dufilvian and Orus represented in the Council of Moffs by the now honorary High Moff Bisz. Analysts are predicting that the combined population and reach of the two governments will result in the largest governing body ever seen in the Galaxy.

The Imperial Ball is a long-standing tradition that brings Imperials together for networking opportunities where officers meet face-to-face with their subordinates in a relaxed atmosphere. Guests will be introduced by an Imperial Guard and greeted by members representing the Empire in the formal reception line. This tradition ensures that each guest is welcomed and directed to the host, Commander Tao of the Imperial Navy, who will indicate where the guests shall be seated. There will be a ceremonial Parading of the Colors followed by dignitary speeches. Musical entertainment will be done by the esteemed Lady Rocher of Coruscant. After the dinner, traditional military toasts will be given to honor military personnel, leaders and guests. Finally, the long awaited formal dance will be held. Following her success with the Imperial Fleet Day, there has been great anticipation for the Imperial Ball amongst the Empire with many expecting the event to be the most successful to date.

Shortly after signing the agreement, King Bisz released the following statement to the Imperial News Bureau: "For many years our two governments have fought against each other despite holding the same beliefs. We both dislike furry creatures. We both like long, hard ships. We both breathe. Yet we didn't see this until we, the Falleen, took a long, hard look at ourselves and saw the errors of our ways. Rather than continue to lose in our war against the Galactic Empire, we decided to be the bigger reptile and seek an end to the misery we were causing ourselves to endure.

As the Imperial Ball draws closer, the Imperial Palace has became a hive of activity as the organizing team began preparing the grounds for the festivities that would come with the annual occasion. Excitement has been high in the past few days as guests from across the Galaxy arrive in preparation for the opening ceremony. Even the Imperial Military, stationed on Coruscant since the conclusion of the Clone Wars and assisting in the organization of the Ball, have been getting into the spirit of the occasion with excitement and great anticipation filling the hearts of the seasoned veterans. One officer stated so succinctly "I've been waiting to get my dance on!"

"I, and my government, failed to listen to my citizens, who pleaded to end the turmoil we were enduring. It was only after the successful assault on M`buh by the Empire that I finally listened and after then, I knew that there was only one thing to be done. I am highly thankful that the Empire, despite the rather bad and poorly written propaganda that we mistakenly produced, listened to our pleas for an audience and after several weeks of negotiations, we have come to this agreement.

The Imperial News Service has been granted special access to the Imperial Ball, where it has been found that Brigadier General L'Annan, Commanding Officer of the Imperial Army, will be performing a cultural dance at the Imperial Ball. She has chosen the Victory March which is an excerpt from the ballet The Seven Romances of Andante. The choice of dance exemplifies the overpowering might of the Empire. Brigadier General L'Annan graduated from the Crollian Academy of Dance and Music, receiving a qualification for Traditional Dance before enlisting into the Imperial Army.

"I have made many mistakes in the past, such as having my lizard nation become a member of the Galactic Republic, and hope now that the Empire can help me correct this mistake. The Emperor, as wise and knowledgeable as I attempted to make myself, will be a worthwhile leader of our combined governments. On behalf of the former Falleen Federation, I say this: Long live the Galactic Federation!"

With the entire Empire capturing the spirit of the Ball, many citizens within the Empire are expected to hold their own Imperial Ball parties. Once such example is The Sky Loft, a high profiled bar, hosting a pre-party with an Imperial theme. The Sky Loft is owned by Commander Tao and operated by Senior Workman Lilith Kaine. It is known across the Empire for its playful atmosphere and indulgent libations. Commander Tao has offered a one million-credit prize for the guest with the best toga. When asked about the toga party she commented, "It is an event that has the same spirit as the Imperial Ball but crazier!"

Diplomats from the Galactic Empire, under an honorary escort from the Ninth Imperial Fleet and the Third Imperial Legion, will arrive at Stunibbiu later this week to sign the Galactic Empire's agreement to the Accord. Shortly after, the two governments of the Galactic Empire and the Falleen Federation will meet in Coruscant to announce the combination of the two former enemies. An Imperial Diplomat from the Imperial Diplomatic Corps said, "The Galactic Empire has never hidden itself from the benefits that can emerge from the art of diplomacy. In the negotiations held between King Bisz and the Imperial Diplomatic Corps, we have come to a mutually benefiting agreement that ultimately led to the Galactic Federation.

Prefect Ralk'bun is heading the security team responsible for the safety of the guests. In an attempt to interview him regarding the safety and security of the guests, Prefect Ralk'bun had no comments. Security has been found to be on high alert encompassing transportation, accommodations, and cuisine. Due to the level of importance of the guests it has been decided that no media coverage outside of the control of the Empire be allowed. All in all the Imperial Ball is on schedule, the security is tight and the guests are eager for some rest and relaxation.

"In many cases, a merge of two galactic governments can prove to be a deadly task; however, the formation of the Galactic Federation has provided remarkably easy. No changes will happen in the Imperial Military or Intelligence services, due to the former Falleen Federation lacking rather poorly in that department. This fact allowed us to rapidly advance the negotiations and proceed to an agreement on the structure of the judicial and government branches. "A joint investigative agency, named Lizard Investigations for the Empire (LIE), will be formed to bridge the gap between the two internal security agencies whilst regional governors from the Falleen Federation will slot into the Imperial Government structure with relative ease as Imperial Moffs assume power.

"Furthermore, experts within the Ministry of Industry are expecting a fashion trend of crocodile skin shoes to emerge in the upcoming months. The shoes, which were made popular by the Vizier for Progress at the recent Imperial Ball, were formerly considered a rare commodity due to the lack of access to decent green-skinned reptiles within the Empire. However this merger will allow the deluxe items to become a visible in all households of the Galactic Federation.

"The benefits of the merger will provide the Empire with a new age, possibly green although golden in nature, and the history books will remember the formation of the Galactic Federation for many years to come."

Celebrations are being prepared for the public announcement of the Galactic Federation with rumors of the day being declared a public holiday known as "Green Lizard Day."
