Biography

Childhood

Tyla Upari was born on Corellia. Her father worked in a ship yard while her mother stayed home to attend to her. They were always in dire need of credits. Much of her memory of her childhood is fogged by the constant tension that seemed to always linger in the household. She never remembered seeing her mother smile, nor did she feel comfortable when her father came home from a long day's worth of work. Her father was a quiet man that barely spoke to her or her mother. Never having had an education himself, he took it upon himself to take out a large loan to help pay for Tyla's schooling. Unfortunately, times were even tougher. Evvin Upari was laid off from his job and Tyla had fallen ill. Using ever last bit of credits in his savings, he was able to take Tyla to a doctor. Unfortunately, he was never able to pay back his loan. When she was 5 years old, the loan sharks murdered her family and left her on the streets of Corellia. For an entire two years she lived amongst other children in similar situations, always in competition with the other street children for food and shelter. These were the worst times of her life, and to this day she does not like to speak about it.

The Savior

One day she attempted to steal supplies that she intended to sell for food from a freighter ship parked nearby her hideout. The freighter belonged to a tall, dark featured man named Dei Targon with many a scar on his face. She was caught almost instantly. He had grabbed her by her scruff, with a smirk she'll remember to this day on his face, watching as she kicked and screamed at him. However, instead of being angry at her, the man took pity and took her under his wing. Tyla spent the next 13 years traveling all around the galaxy with her adoptive father in his freighter, occasionally coming home to Corellia until his job called on him again. She learned when she was older that he was a smuggler, but loves him none the less. She decided, however, that a smugglers life wasn't for her at the moment. What she really wanted to do was bring order to the galaxy and prevent things like what happened to her parents from ever happening again.

Adventure

Tyla was blessed in that she was able to do so much traveling. She can recall many a story concerning her adventures.

Imperial Academy

When she was of age, she joined the Galactic Empire, studying under Dale Chambers. She graduated without honors, however, soon stabilized her place within the Empire, choosing to be apart of the Imperial Navy.
