Early Life

Born on a transport ship heading for Neelgaimon Day 169 in Year 23, Ran had an difficult upbringing. Ran was always getting into trouble just to seek attention from his mother Mina. Because Mina was working hard at the local cantina just to put food on the table for young Ran. Being a single mother and having to work long and often with unruly costumers she had little energy to give to young Ran when she arrived at home. When he was ten he started asking questions about his father. But, every-time he brought it up his ignore him or tell him it is not important. But to him he really needed and wanted to know. This upset Ran and made him angry. So, he started acting out by stealing small items like jewelry and fruits. He got caught of course but hie mother would always get him out of being thrown into to prison. Which made her life even harder than it already was. When he was fifteen, Ran decided he was going to take a cargo ship for a joyride. He found one at the local hangar that looked like it was unoccupied and snuck onboard. He was almost about to take off when the owner of the cargo ship caught Ran and stopped him from taking off. This owner knew his mother from being a regular at the cantina that she worked at. The man brought Ran to his mother Mina and explained to her what Ran tried to do.

Then this man and Mina started to talk about all the things that Ran has been doing and they came to agreement that Ran would start working for him. This was in order to keep Ran from getting into further trouble or worse dying. Ran was not excited about having to work for him. But, little did he know this was one of the best things that has happened to him in his short life.

Prior to Service

Ran was skeptical at first working for a man he never met before he got caught trying to steal his ship. But, eventually he grew to admire and respect the man that took him under his wing and mentored the troubled young man. The first day the man took Ran to the hangar where his ship was and asked him the simplest question "why?". Ran didn't know what to say and just looked down ashamed of what he was doing with his life so far. After that the man introduced himself "My name is Jackie Johnstone, but you can call me Mr. Johnstone". Mr. Johnstone had Ran start out as his cargo handler. This was a hard and tiresome job that left Ran out of energy when he arrived at home. After month's of working for Mr. Johnstone it finally clicked that this is what his mother was feeling after every shift at the cantina. He immediately apologized to his mother for a bad son and that he now understood what she had been dealing with for all those years of trying to take care of him. Ran spent the next three years working for Mr. Johnstone. Over those three year he had learned alot about flying, repairing the ship and it's engines and in certain cases fighting in space. One day Ran was on Mennaalii and saw some Imperial Tie fighter's fly overhead and he knew then that he was going to enlist. Ran had went down to the local recruitment centre while he was on his homeworld. He enlisted and started to make his way to the Imperial Academy on Prakith
