Early Life

Irrilyn Mai was born into a prominent family on the planet onderon, her father was a CEO of a major corporation there and Irrilyn was given a comfortable life. However, the fact that she was the youngest child of 4 meant she didn't stand to inherit any significant part of her father's corporation. . It didn't matter how hard she worked she would never been seen to be superior to her siblings which were older and thus entitled to more. As she grew older it became clear to her if that she couldn't achieve greatness here. Her parents loved her but they didn't respect her, they just saw her as someone to be protected her brothers did all the important work for the company, her sister had already gotten married and was starting a family. Irrilyn had no intention of that happening to her, she aspired to greatness, she wanted an exciting life. She wasn't going to get it here, so one night she sneaked out and stole on of her father's ships, and flew off never looking back.

Joining the empire

For a few months, Irrilyn travelled a few planets trying to determine what her best path was. She soon learned about the Galactic Empire, it was the dominant force in the Galaxy, if she could prove herself in there they would surely reward her. It wouldn't be easy but Greatness was never easy, she was determined however long it took she would earn the respect she deserved, rise high enough that her father would be nothing more than a footnote.

She signed up at the recruitment office at the Academy she distinguished herself, Impressing her instructor and graduating with honours. She'd flown a few ships before and considered herself a pretty good pilot so she stated her desire to join the navy. This wish was granted and after a few days, she was inducted into the navy and started her career in the Empire.
