The Beginning
Ororo Mohom had always felt like an outsider. Born on Tatooine, her dark brown skin, striking blue eyes, and long white hair made her stand out in the arid, sun-scorched world. The contrast of her features was due to a rare genetic anomaly, one that had marked her since birth as different. Many whispered behind her back, and some were not shy in voicing their disdain. Superstitious traders and local villagers in Mos Eisley claimed her appearance was an omen, a sign of misfortune. But Ororo refused to let their prejudice define her.
She had grown up in the bustling streets of Mos Eisley, a place teeming with smugglers, bounty hunters, and criminals who operated in the shadows. Her father, Kaydjam Mohom, was a respected merchant, one of the few who managed to maintain a business without getting entangled in the underground dealings that defined the city. Her mother, Kara Mohom, was a kind and loving woman, always reminding Ororo to dream beyond the dunes of Tatooine. As a child, Ororo was mesmerized by the spectacle of ships arriving and departing from the Mos Eisley spaceport. She would spend hours perched on a rocky ledge, watching starfighters, cargo freighters, and Imperial ships streaking across the sky. The sight filled her with longing. She dreamed of one day piloting her own starfighter, soaring through the stars and leaving Tatooine behind. Her ultimate goal was to join the Galactic Empire’s academy and become a pilot—a dream that was met with resistance from her father.
Kaydjam had different plans for his daughter. He needed her skills to help run the family business. From an early age, Ororo had shown an aptitude for piloting, mastering the controls of their cargo ship with precision. She first flew within the planet’s atmosphere, delivering supplies to clients across Tatooine. As she grew older, she expanded her range, piloting beyond the Tatoo system, navigating hyperspace lanes with ease. But despite her skill, her father disapproved of her ambitions to leave and become part of the Empire’s ranks.
Everything changed during one fateful cargo run. Kaydjam had taken a contract to deliver goods beyond the system, a seemingly routine job. Ororo, as usual, was at the helm. However, as they approached their destination, a pirate fleet ambushed them. A squadron of starfighters escorted a larger vessel, demanding their surrender. Kaydjam, never one to back down, engaged the enemy, managing to take down several of their ships. Ororo maneuvered their freighter expertly, dodging incoming fire, but then, ion cannons struck their ship, shutting down its systems. The vessel drifted helplessly in space. Before they could recover, the pirates boarded them. A group of Trandoshan raiders stormed in, their reptilian eyes gleaming with malicious intent. Kaydjam fought fiercely, trying to protect Ororo, but he was outnumbered. He fell, cut down before her eyes. Overwhelmed with grief and rage, she tried to fight back, but she was restrained and taken captive.
Ororo was transported to the Roon system, a haven for pirates and outlaws. She was sold into slavery, her exotic appearance making her a prize for the wealthy elite. Her new master was a Chiss merchant, a man of immense wealth and perverse desires. The next two years of her life were a waking nightmare. She was paraded at gatherings, treated as a possession rather than a person. Each day was a struggle to survive, to retain her sense of self. Then, an opportunity arose. During one of her master’s lavish parties, where guests drank themselves into oblivion, Ororo found herself alone with a wealthy merchant. Over the night, she skillfully charmed him, planting the idea that he should take her to his ship. Once aboard, she seized her moment. In the confines of his quarters, she suffocated him, her hands shaking with adrenaline. For the first time in years, she was free. Stealing his ship, she set a course for Tatooine. She had endured too much pain, too much suffering, and she longed to see her mother again. But when she arrived, she was met with devastating news. Kara Mohom had passed away, her heart broken from the loss of both her husband and daughter. Ororo had returned home, only to find that there was nothing left for her.
With nothing tying her to Tatooine, she made her decision. She gathered her belongings, sold what little she had, and boarded a transport to Coruscant. If there was one thing she had left, it was her dream. The moment she stepped onto the capital world of the Empire, she wasted no time. She marched to the Imperial Academy and enrolled. Her past had been taken from her, but her future was now in her hands. And she would fight for it, no matter the cost.
Imperial Life
Imperial Academy
Ororo’s journey began on Year 26, Day 85, when she was accepted into the Imperial Academy, her heart swelling with both pride and apprehension. The next days into the academy were nothing short of grueling. Each day, she endured the relentless rhythm of physical drills and intellectual challenges, pushing her body and mind to their limits. In between endless hours of combat training and tactical simulations, she poured over the Imperial archives, absorbing the strict hierarchies and unyielding order that governed Imperial society—its ruthless efficiency, its cold justice.
Her thoughts often drifted to the cockpit of a TIE fighter, the thrill of space combat, the precision of a starfighter pilot’s mind. Yet, as the days wore on, it became clear that the Academy would not be a mere stepping stone to her dreams. Though her aspirations soared, Ororo knew she might have to serve the Empire in another capacity—perhaps as an officer, a strategist, or even a stormtrooper.
On Year 26, Day 98, Ororo stood in front of the assembly, her uniform crisp and her gaze unwavering. She had made it. Yet, while she had earned her graduation, the top honors were not hers. Still, she had succeeded, and the Empire’s future was now a part of her destiny, whether behind a starfighter’s controls or in the heart of its military apparatus.
