Reese Beoulve

"Why, wouldn't you wear one if you could?"
— Reese answering to a question about his helmet.

A mysterious figure that is seen through the military ranks of the Imperial Navy. Very little is known of Reese from before he has joined the Galactic Empire. Always wearing his very characteristic helmet, which covers part of his face, Beoulve is very closed when it comes to speaking of himself, however, a very charismatic and talkative corellian. Holding the rank of Command Flight Sergeant and just in the beginning of his career, Reese is distinguished by his outstanding performance in combat flight situations, what is easily noticed by his skill at flying Fighters.

Biography

Pre-Empire life

Reese Beoulve is his full name, and possibly his family surname. Nothing in depth is know of this person since his entrance and acceptation into the Imperial Academy. Always wearing his characteristic helmet, Reese is seems to be a very young person, judging by his height, physicals and appearance. Commonly wearing his Imperial Navy formal vests, Reese is a charismatic person who possibly would engage in hours of conversations with any given person, however, at the same time he never speaks of himself with anyone. Usually when this topic comes into discussion, he evades it with a polite joke about the given question.

Before the time where Reese entered the Imperial Academy building to enlist himself to its military ranks, for certain is known that he was already familiarized with ships. His skills at piloting Fighter ships in combat environment are with no doubt his most distinguish characteristics. The young Corellian, during his academy courses out-graded all of his fellow Imperial recruits when it came to pilot practicing, and probably this was some reason that explains his honor graduation.

While still living at the Corellian planet, the information about this pilot in the Imperial records are very few. There are no records of Reese participating in any battle before his acceptance, neither of him having joined any ship formation before. His name seems to have came in topic for a very few times only in the Corellian records, what make it thinks that indeed he was not a shining person before joining the Empire. For himself, he never speaks of those times, but with a smile and his unmatched politeness, he avoids the conversation usually with an ironic joke.

By researching about what can be gathered together when it comes to information, Reese seemed to live in the capital city of the planet, without any record of felonies neither his name showing up in any public documentary or news. The Beoulve surname also never showed up before, and no relatives of him could be located to be questioning about this person. His identities and documents, however are official and double checked.

Reese in fact, as it seems, has lived his whole life before joining the Galactic Empire as a civilian which has no shinning moment, or if he did, its completely omitted from the public knowledge. He used to live in an apartment, a regular one, in the center of the Corellian capital. Reese has attended to the regular school in his childhood, even though the registry of his parents are unknown. With regular grades at it, he completely seemed to be nothing but a normal person who lived as a civilian.

Possibly the only personal objects that Reese brought with himself when he came into the Imperial Academy was a hand-drawn painting, that he keeps with himself in the personal quarters of the Imperial Navy, where now he seems to live.

Academic Courses

With the approximate age of 17 years old, the young masked civilian has entered for the first time the Imperial Academy building. Having with himself nothing but one box of belongings and the strange helmet that covered half of his face, nothing seems to be strange to that person. Upon enlisting, only the required information and background checking made was answered. Just the nescessary information was given, and then, accepted.

During the first days of attending to the Academy, Reese seemed to be just another Imperial aspiring to the military machine of the Empire. At first he had no specific characteristic of his own besides the helmet, that he refused to remove all the time. Being just another person in the classes for some days, his name was indeed obscured by all the body built Army aspiring that had perfect grades in self-defenses, or the cunning minds that solved many engineering problems. Reese, however, wasn't a negative in those aspects, he was just a standard person.

This posture lasted two months, and by that time he made no friend within the Recruits, just exchanged some words with the now Crewman Pak Gjin, since both of them came from Corellia. By time of two months studies, it was the time for the classes to flight in simulations. The ship oriented lectures came, and by that time was when Reese came to be known by the tutors. In the first day of attending to the lessons, Reese brought down half of his class ships alone, and the rest of them in group dogfights. Up until that day, it was almost a record broken by the first day of simulators.

Since that day Reese Beoulve was a relatively heard name within the Academy, and the Tutors indeed seemed to have saw a promising pilot into that masked person. The time has passed, and the grades, rose along with his performance in the flights. Reese was above the standard in the written lessons, this, because he spent most of his free time in the library, where with his personal datapad provided by the Academy he read again and again about the Empire itself and many other topics. At the flying and ship-wise exercises however, he was a shinning star.

Even though being a very reclusive young person, Reese almost all the time kept a serene expression from it could be seen from behind his mask, or a small smile. He was polite beyond the situation, and it was hard to believe that someone could bring him to a bad mood or angry, for he was very calm. His numbers and grades during the ship lessons always was rising, and that came to attention to the tutors, that even though rising the challenges proposed in the classes, had surprises out themselves when it came to the corellian pilot.

By the end of the academic courses, Reese was either admired by some, and hated by the most. He was the opposite of a popular person, because being so reclusive and polite at the same time unfortunately gave him a very arrogant looking, even so, he never meant to be. His grades caused envy of some, and those who congratulated him, were received with a very short conversation, an enjoyable one. By the end of the courses Reese was very busy, and that brought an end to those long and charismatic conversations that he used to have with the others, because he was aware that the graduation was soon, and even though he has already the grades to be graduated into the Navy, he wanted a little more.

Beoulve's reasons are very unknown, but with a strange fervor and dedication, the pilot was chasing an honor graduation with such ambition that could scare someone. Spending days and nights reading and practicing, re-reading and preparing himself, finally the day of the final assignment has came to him. For some, it was a surprise, for others, a bad moment of anger, but for Reese it was the Honor Graduation that he has earned.

The podium speech of the masked person could be remarkable for the Academy history, because most of the audience was staring at him with some anger, while the minority was staring at his mask and wondering why would he be wearing it. Without speaking much, Reese just stated that he was proud to heading to the Navy. No one was thanked, or mentioned during his speech, and shortly he left the podium back to his quarters.

Arrogance. That was the word that many recruits was associating to Reese, but it was inevitable out of him. He was too closed for speaking with anyone, and that charisma along with the distant relation that he shared with some, was easily described as arrogance. Reese, for himself, never seemed to be concerned with that. Upon the graduation party, which Reese also attended to wearing his helmet, it was the time for him to depart to the assigned unit from the Imperial Navy.

Proudly wearing his new Navy Uniform and the rank of Flight Corporal along with his award of the Imperial Academy Honors Graduation, his helmet was the without a doubt the most characteristic trait of him.

Imperial Service

Imperial Navy

Right after graduating into the Imperial Navy, Reese was assigned to a unit from its fleets. It was probably the happiest moment of his recorded life. Bringing along with him only a hand-drawn painting and his helmet, which he never removed in public, he already engaged in the Military life with actually quite a pace. During his first moments in the Military Ranks of the Navy, and upon reading his academic records it was clear that some authorities has came to have an eye or two towards the Corellian, since his skills in the cockpit was "Outstanding", as described by the Lord Admiral Senki Blackrain.

With mot of his assignments being classified, little is recorded by the young career that Reese is having at the Navy, but among them is obviously his quick award that he has earned during a drill training operation of his unit. Supervised by the Navy Command itself, Reese's unit has been engaged into some combat practices, which the young corellian was very used to, and known for. Nothing too much was expected from that person. His name was not very heard by those in his unit, and being a pilot who was wearing a helmet-mask, it was very little to be expected.

Surprising even his own commanding officer, Reese managed to score 38 ships destroyed. It was an unmatched score for that particular practicing operation, and probably a new milestone for its pilots. That has came to attention of the Lord Admiral himself, who rewarded his performance with the Exercise Achievement Medal. With a short smile, typical of him and a deep saluting the Flight Corporal received the medal completely proud of himself. As usual, with little expression and emotion as very expected for those who already knew him.

Several months has passed after that, which were in a general way, very calm to the fleet and Reese himself, until the moment where the exploring orders has came. While the details of such exploration are still classified to general public, Reese and his whole unit has been engaged on something they've never done before, but was one of the prime features that a pilot of that kind should be used to: Exploring.

The operation was long, tiresome and pushed the guts of the pilots to the limit on a way that was never met before. It could be reasonable to state that some fell in illness and homesickness from the long way away from the original home of their fleet. Some, however, stood above the general expectations from the fleet command, which were quite basic since it was understood beforehand that such was going to be one of the most long and patience testing the pilots has faced so far.

Reese however were among those who did not let the command down for the operation. In fact, the sergeant has shown an exceptional way of conducting his designed path for the exploration, to the point that other fields has also been supported by the masked pilot during the course of flights. It has been indeed a long way and a harsh experience, but as known of the sergeant, that smile that never left his face was still present after all of it.

By the end of such operation, in recognition for the incredible active and present way of conducting the exploration in the past few time, Reese has been awarded his first Letter of Commendation. Such has been so far the most important award that the pilot personally had, along with his Exercise Achievement Medal which has been awarded by the Lord Admiral himself. Such feeling maybe has to do with the meaning of such award, that demonstrate on sight the faith that his command has on him. Wearing it proudly on his dress uniform, Reese continued his operations and services.

Now more experienced than never, nothing much has changed for the masked man. His eternal sharp and charismatic smile, his poetic way of speaking and act, and nevertheless, his deadly skill on a cockpit of a fighter.

Medals and Awards

Imperial Academy Honors Grade

IABG-H.jpg

During the very end of his academic courses, Reese managed himself to rise his standard grades to a point where distinguishing himself of the others was just a matter of time. Spending completely all of his free time in his quarters or in the library of the Academy, the young Corellian pilot have studied hours and hours of texts and doctrines from the Galactic Empire and his studies from the galaxy itself surrounding the topics of the classes.

During the whole year of classes, Reese kept his grades above the standard of the fellow pilots, and that was clear to guess since while many of the recruits spent their times in the Cantina, or playing sports at the dedicated area of the building, Reese, as a very reclusive person at first look, was almost living in the library and the hangar of the ships. That wasn't an option for him, however. While Reese never intended to make many friends in the Academy, he wasn't complaining of the seclusion he found himself at, instead, he enjoyed it because he has more time to learn about what was of his interest.

The main point however of this high score he could achieve through the Academy wasn't mainly due to his written tests, but for his piloting skills. Even though its unknown the source of his abilities in the cockpit, certain is its effect. Reese was completely very skilled when it came to fly a ship in a combat environment, and possibly he held the most impressive record for an individual pilot that year in the Academy.

This feat of him, and his obsessive will to earn the Honors grade that he was having during the last part of his courses, made it only possible for him to be graduated with this ribbon on his chest.

Exercise Achievement Medal

EAM.jpg

This is probably one of the most distinguishing medal that could be earned by Reese during his early career experiences. The Exercise Achievement Medal was granted to the pilot, by the Lord Admiral Senki Blackrain himself after the first combat exercise that Reese participated.

While it was just a training exercise within the unit where Reese served at, he made it clear what to expect from the pilot in the battlefield. The practicing consisted of a death match training piloting Fighter ships with non-lethal weaponry. Among his unit, that was participating as a whole, Reese could manage to score 38 destroyed ships, beating the whole unit, including his Executive Officer and Commanding Officer in the process.

That feat, at least form himself will be remembered by the rest of his career, but immortalized by the medal that the masked pilot wears proudly in the chest of his uniform. The moment after the training, the Lord Admiral himself has stepped into the room to congratulate the whole unit for their performance in the given situation, but awarded Reese with the medal. It was a surprise for himself, but as usual, a very disciplined reaction of him was given: A smile, and a deep saluting the Lord Admiral in front of him.

Mentioned in Dispatches

MID.jpg

During an patrol exercise within the Carrier Group where Reese served, a sudden drill training has been prompted. Attacked by another group in an ambush, Reese's formation was patrolling a nearby system when the alert came out that the comrades has been under attack from the fleet mates in the training. As soon as the information has been received, the command of the group promptly sent out the order for responding to the threat immediately.

With a more than swift action, the group where Reese served have moved to the ambushed system in order to defend the Carrack-class Cruiser that has been there in a patrol mission. The movement could be described as an space lightning, since the speed in which it has been accomplished gave little chance of reaction from the attacking team. After a single assaulting run against the unprepared vessels, Reese and a fellow pilot managed to wipe out an entire squadron of TIE/Sa Bombers there stationed. In response to that, the attacking group called an retreat.

In the next few days the words of such swift action from the group has spread through the fleet, and needless to say that it came to the ears of the Lord Admiral and Navy Command in their reports. In that situation, during the next Naval Monthly Meeting, the whole group has been awarded the Mentioned in Dispatches award, meaning that their names and feats has been topic of recognition during the reports for that month.

Letter of Commendation

LOC.jpg

Reese has been awarded a Letter of Commendation after the most recent operation in with his unit has engaged. While its details are still classified to general public, the group was participating on an exploration and scanning routine, where the Master Flight Sergeant has been eager to continue and find some gratifying results for the unit. In the end, Beoulve has covered a considerable area of scanning for the unit, far beyond what has been initially designated for the pilot.

The exploration has been long enough for many pilots from his unit to desire the order back home; It was a tiresome task they had in front of them for an unknown duration. Many, however, never complained because the real deed behind the orders was known to some. During a long period of time, the members of his unit were scanning and visiting several coordinates to complete their exploration as soon as possible. Even though the end never seemed to be anywhere close, some devoted themselves above the general expectation, which included the Master Flight Sergeant. For those, not only the recognition from the Command has been given, but also the deep personal sense of duty, because that was not only a naval exploring mission, but also an aid to some that needed.

During the Naval Monthly Meeting of Y13D137, the Rear Admiral Gredek Dregoth has declared the award being given to Reese, in recognition of the devoted way that he conducted the past operation. This was the first Letter of Commendation to be awarded by Reese, and is one of his most personally important ribbons so far, along with the Exercise Achievement Medal, awarded earlier in his career.

Unit Distinguished Service

UDS.jpg

During a visit of of the Lord Admiral Senki Blackrain on board the fleet's flagship, what has been a surprise to every member of it since it was unannounced, the award has been issued to the entire fleet. On that occasion, the Lord Admiral has presented the award for the fleet members along with a small speech, taking place at the briefing room of the vessel, along with the entire fleet command and staff.

This medal is also the most recent of Reese, worn along with his Letter of Commendation. The meaning of such award has been such that it's doubtful if Reese would still prefer any other above this. The fleet has probably been the only unit so far to be awarded such medal, in recognition of its readiness to any combat situation and the expertise it has been performing at so far.

Imperial Activity Medal

IAM.jpg

This medal has been given to Reese in regards of his performance on a very specific operation that his fleet engaged in. During the mission, it was required from the pilots a high level of attention and alertness during the patrol phases, since not even a single target could be afford to pass by unnoticed. Beoulve, on the cockpit of his TIE/Sr has demonstrated an outstanding degree of attention and willingness to participate on the mission, since during the initial steps of the operation, he reported by himself several key movements on the system, and flied on a non-stop manner during days of patrols.

This dedication to the success of the operation has been recognized by the Command staff, and not long after the operation has been called over and successful, it has came to the attention that Reese has been holding such medal. With this new addition to the Sergeant's plaque, it is possible that the masked pilot is currently the most awarded enlisted pilot of his fleet, and one of the most awarded enlisted personnel of the Navy during the current time. Needless to say that such medal has been displayed with proud among others, which was impossible to distinguish which one would be the most important for the pilot.
