Early History
Rick was born on Corellia to a middle class family. He learned how to fly fairly early in his life as his family needed help in a small shipping adventure that failed to go anywhere. As he grew older he felt that his excellent piloting ability could be used elsewhere. He began to explore his options, would it be better to serve a government or a smaller para-military group?
Exploration and Service
By his teenage years, Rick decided to set off and explore. He joined some smaller organizations and did everything that was asked of him, but failed to gain recognition by anyone in the fleet. Feeling left out and alienated by those around him he reached out to some friends for help. Fairly quickly, he decided that this was not going to last and asked for his friends to pick him up and take him to a new opportunity. This led to him formally leaving his position in the navy and flying to be with some friends on Chandrila.
This was an ideal change for Rick. Based on his prior experience he did not need to go through any academy training. He immediately gained the respect of the authorities he was working with and their old allied factions and worked his way through the ranks. Within a year of joining he had enormous gains within the fledgling fleet and even began to build his own personal fleet, but unfortunately things began to turn sour and Rick began to look elsewhere. He began training himself in other areas to make himself a quality asset, soon he became a skilled Medic. Having the officer experience was good but now he also had the skills to help others. He managed to clear up any bad feelings that existed and soon left Chandrila and his old friends behind.
A Peaceful Life
Soon Rick had settled into a peaceful semi-retirement. He took his personal fleet of ships and moved to his personal space station within deep space. From there he settled into a quiet life, traveling the galaxy, maintaining life on his station and for the most part avoiding anything going on in the galaxy.
Rick had chosen to not get involved with conflicts and periodically would get in touch with his friends and travel to see them. His family was long gone by this point, with his parents dying about the year 17. Rick had chosen not to have a family after going into a semi-retirement, but he enjoyed the life of being free to do what he wanted and explore and invest in whatever he wanted.
This retirement felt like it was going to be permanent but after almost 8 years in retirement, Rick felt the call to become active again and build a new legacy. It was at that point he inquired about joining the Galactic Empire. He reached out to the Empire and began a new journey…
A New Life: Service to the Empire!
Having been out of the game for a while, Rick needed some help getting back into the routines of service again. Luckily for him the Imperial Academy provided him that opportunity. It was at the academy that Rick began to feel a sense of fulfillment again. Working through the information, completing tasks, and engaging with his instructors brought a new sense of pride to Rick.
He pushed through the academy and soon was assigned to the Imperial Navy. A new wave a nervousness swept over Rick as he began to wonder was a fully prepared to enter military service again. He was soon assigned to his new fleet and task force.
Imperial Military Service
Having arrived in the region, Rick began to acquaint himself with the Empire and his task force. Despite a few blunders, Rick began to work as hard as he could to get caught up to the younger pilots and officers and also relearn a lot from the more experienced veteran officers.
Rick would be assigned to hunt down bandits in the asteroid fields nearby and soon found himself engaged against the enemy. Within the first months of service Rick engaged bandits in the asteroids and briefly served with the Imperial Army to clear some bandits from planets.
