Leader
-When the current leader died he made Jorgus the new leader even though someone else was next in line. That person became the second-in-command and remained resentful. Jorgus was an efficient leader that led the group through many successful missions that led to continually bigger and better things. Despite his efficacy, though, the group that supported his second-in-command for the leadership remained resentful.
Betrayed
Second-in-command let a successful coup against him & framed Jorgus in a case of ratting out on the organization to Corsec. Feeling betrayed and wanting a change of pace + having never received direction in his life he decided to go into the Empire
Joining the Empire
Jorgus finally joined the Empire in Year 9 when he was 23. In the academy, his professor was Tec Vaan. After graduating from the academy as a Basic Graduate, Jorgus was assigned to the Imperial Navy. To his disappointment, he started out his career in the Navy working onboard larger capital ships. Though this wasn't unusual, it would be a lie to say that he hadn't hoped to be immediately assigned to a fighter squadron. Through it all, Jorgus just bit his lip, and kept working. He showed his skill in fighters and flight simulators and eventually those displays got him placed in a TIE fighter during combat exercises. When he performed exceptionally there too, Jorgus finally got what he had been waiting for.
Ace Pilot
Accompanying his promotion to Flight Sergeant Jorgus was assigned to a new squadron, Vengeance squadron a new TIE-Scout squadron. He stayed there through many missions, forming bonds with other members of the squadron. There efficacy got them assigned more difficult and critical missions and through it all, they gained renown. Jorgus, or Vengeance 02, also began to gain a reputation as a daring pilot of exceptional skill. This, combined with the initiative he took within his fleet to ameliorate the training exercises and step up the training, saw him rise through the enlisted ranks.
Finally, when he was a Master Flight Sergeant, he was assigned on a special mission to Carida. The mission saw him transferred from Vengeance squadron to Onyx squadron, an elite TIE-Scout squadron widely known for its unorthodox tactics. The only reason it was still around was that it had never failed a mission. Not once. Jorgus came onto the squadron as the replacement tactical advisor. The one before him had just been promoted to an officer and transferred to a different fleet. The mission, like all the others, was successful, and upon its completion Jorgus, when provided with the choice, elected to return to Vengeance squadron.
By the time his return was actually put into place, he was a Flight Officer and the squad leader. Things seemed well, at first, though it was taking Jorgus time to adjust to his command role. Despite the trust his squadmates placed in him and the tactical expertise he had, he often second-guessed himself, not wanting to needlessly risk the lives of members of his squadron. While a noble notion, in the grand of schemes it was ineffective as the life of a few of Imperials could surely be sacrificed for the greater good of the Empire. Still, Jorgus' stubbornness prevailed over his sense and his unwillingness to take risks led not only to his squad beginning to lose their trust in him, but to failed missions. Had the missions been of a lesser importance, failure would not have been so bad. However, the missions the squadron was being assigned on were often critical - a result of their past performance and the skill Jorgus proved he had. Luckily this mission was not too critical for if it had Jorgus would likely have lost his command. He was given a second chance, though, and he was determined not to waste it.
On the next missions that followed Jorgus began taking more risks. Though he lost a pilot in that time, the missions he and his squad were assigned to were definite successes. Again, Jorgus' reputation grew and he became a name frequently heard by aspiring aces in the simulators. He even helped run combat exercises when time allowed. Things were going great, until he took a little too great of a risk in a scouting mission, moving too far into enemy territory. Though he had ordered the rest of the squad to stay back, not wanting to risk their lives, they had all followed, having grown as stubborn as he was. That quality saved his life that day, when enemy forces scrambled two squadrons of fighters to confront them.
A dogfight ensued. At first, it was just bad. Vengeance squadron was outnumbered two to one. However, they had trained for such situations. Besides, they were facing uglies that were less maneuverable and poorly built, even if they did have a better arsenal. Thus, they managed to dispatch the enemies while only losing two of their men. However, that was just the first wave, a warm up. Moments after the fight died down two squadrons of Z-95 headhunters came at them. In their first pass, in which they caught Jorgus and the other Imperials almost entirely by surprise, they killed two more pilots and damaged two other TIE-Scouts. Though the Imperials responded bravely it was futile. The Headhunters were better equipped for combat, more maneuverable, and Jorgus' superior tactics were made irrelevant by the fact that they only had nine ships, two of which were damaged, bringing the count to about four enemy ships for every friendly.
Vengeance squadron scrambled, starting up hyperspace and getting out as fast as possible. The silence of space had never terrified Jorgus before this moment. The distressed voices of his pilots, frantically communicating their progress in programming hyperspace locations, would cut off and be replaced first by static, then by silence. A few moments would pass and the cycle would repeat itself.
Only four Imperials - Jorgus included - made it out alive that day. They had managed to take out seven of the headhunters during their escape, though they didn't bother to remark that when they next saw each other. They were all too occupied. Some with their thoughts, others with the severe injuries they had suffered, and Jorgus with his guilt. Had he not gone out so far, none of this would have happened.
Leaving the Empire
Over the next weeks Jorgus was tormented by the event. He consulted Fleet Command about the problems but could not forgive himself. Eventually, after discussing the possibility of transferring to the reserves with Fleet Command Jorgus left. He practically disappeared and didn't stay to say so much as goodbye to the people he knew.
Return to the Empire
Almost exactly two years later Jorgus spontaneously returned. He made no mention of what he did during his time away but he seemed revitalized and was as energetic as he had been in the peak of his career before his leave, so most did not question him. During his time away much had changed within the Empire, not the least of which was the restructuring of the military. Though most assumed it would take some time for him to readjust he had kept tabs on the Empire during his time away. The most difficult thing to deal with was the idea of returning to the Navy, a decision he made because of feeling that it would be best to return to something he knew and confront the past. He also had trouble adjusting to the fact that many of the people who had been recruits around the time he left were now officers, his superiors. Many of his friends had also changed branches, if not left the Empire, or been killed in action.
Often, thoughts of where he would be had he stayed in the Empire picked at him, but he knew that he had needed the time away and had done valuable, important things while on his own.

Promotion to Ensign upon return as a result of the military restructuring.
