Many have accepted that Krek's death was a tragedy caused by some upstart Hapans, but Corion remains unconvinced, as does his mother. History
Corion was brought up a loyal Imperial citizen, and has always seen the Empire as the best option to ensure people around the galaxy are kept safe from the predations of others. He may not hate the New Republic and their Alliance forebears with the passion of others, but he certainly sees them as misguided, and hates pirates and criminals with a passion.
Family
Corion Nambustel was born to an Imperial loving family in the Hapes Cluster. Marith, his mother, was once a renowned TIE Fighter ace, while his father, Krek was involved in Imperial Intelligence, though this detail is still unknown by Corion, who believe he worked for the Ministry of Industry.
Childhood
Corion's childhood was much like any other Hapan from a noble military family, with time whiled away playing strategy games against his father on days off, and parading with other local children in makeshift Stormtrooper costumes. An active young child, Corion was injured while playing during a storm, with his leg broken badly by a falling tree. Corion's leg was saved, but he remained in a cast for the better part of several months, during which time he grew despondent and distant.
The one thing that brought the young Corion joy was being taken to see exhibits of Clone Wars era Walkers and military technology, something which made a great impression on the young boy, to the extent that he decided that more than anything else, he wished to be a Combat Walker Pilot.
Education
It was then, perhaps, little surprise, when Corion applied himself to his studies, that he sought education with the Royal Military Academy in Hapes. The Academy accepted Corion a year earlier than normal due to his impressive knowledge of tactics and strategy, and though he flagged behind in physical activity, he demonstrated excellent marksmanship and piloting skills. By the time he was 16, Corion was well regarded within the academy as being one of its' foremost pilots, sometimes outpacing even his instructors in drills.

A Death in the Family
This charmed life for Corion came to a tragic end in year 15, however, when his father, officially on a Ministry of Industry trade mission, was killed when his Lambda Shuttle exploded. Hapan authorities moved to investigate the scene, but were waved off by Imperial TIEs on the borders of the Consortium. The investigation was as a result placed under Imperial jurisdiction, and the death attributed to a bomb planted in his shuttle by a small Hapan Insurrectionist faction.
But doubts linger as to the death of Krek; Why were Hapan authorities prevented from investigating the scene? Why did the wreckage piece sent to the family have scorch marks more akin to those caused by a torpedo impact? And despite the authorities declaring that the cause was a remotely detonated explosive, how could the detonator not match the explosives used?
Many have accepted that Krek's death was a tragedy caused by some upstart Hapans, but Corion remains unconvinced, as does his mother. He kept his head down for his final years of Military Academy, and then enrolled in the Imperial Academy at 24.

Imperial Academy
Though Corion joined the Academy officially to join the AT-AT corps, he found himself pulled in increasingly bizarre directions. Sneaking around campus at night, he spent his evenings digging into archives, trying to find mention of his father's name, but remained unsuccessful during his tenure there. Under the excellent guidance of Faraday Euler, Corion blossomed from an awkward, bumbling strategist, into a well-rounded soldier, and one of the finest Walker pilots in the army.
Imperial Army
Corion has finally hit his stride, now that he has joined the Imperial Army. But despite all of his training, he remains the same clumsy cadet who graduated from Hapes in many ways. Few know that beneath his charmingly clumsy exterior, is a powerfully analytical mind which is constantly exploring all possible options, and looking for answers to questions that should not be asked.
