Arturus Goth rose to recognition as the Minister of Operations, creating and overseeing the now-defunct Ministry of Operations. He was also appointed Grand Moff, head of administration of the Coruscant Sector, following the retirement of Vero Thrawn. Eventually Goth was appointed as Pro-Consul, then Regent - second-in-command of the Galactic Empire. He served as the Regent until he resigned from Imperial service over a dispute over how to deal with a situation with Kuat Drive Yards. Instead of submitting to Goth's demands, Emperor Vodo tried to force Goth to resign. When Goth refused, Vodo expelled the Regent from Imperial service. Shocked at the sudden loss of his power, Goth committed suicide.
