Malachi Forfax is a Coruscant born human. He is currently a Lieutenant in the prestigious Imperial Navy and Junior Training Officer for the Imperial Academy.

Early Life

Born to Lushian and Wylo Forfax on Year 3 Day 204 on the Imperial capital planet of Coruscant, Malachi was brought into a world immersed in the Imperial lifestyle. His family held a modest status, with his father working as a low-ranking bureaucrat and his mother as a nurse at a local hospital. Growing up, Malachi witnessed the stark contrast between the elite and the working class on Coruscant. His parents' long hours planted the seeds of a hardworking personality within him.

Education

Malachi attended a middling Imperial school, not particularly known for producing graduates with long and successful careers. He struggled with his grades early on, as his parents had little time to help him study. However, he developed a keen interest in military history, fueled by the many stories his father told him of great battles fought by genius Imperial Admirals. As he grew older and approached the end of his schooling, Malachi began to study Imperial fleet battles and the tactics of great Admirals, developing a strong ambition to join the Imperial Navy and pilot his own ship one day. This ambition often led to conflict with his parents, who, despite having instilled a love for Imperial history in him, feared the dangers of a life in the Navy. They preferred that he pursue a safer government job, similar to their own. Nevertheless, Malachi studied hard day and night and eventually, when he came of age, took the entrance exam for the Imperial Academy.

Malachi’s determination to succeed often made him his own worst enemy. Impatient by nature, he pushed himself to the brink, believing that hard work alone would be enough to overcome his struggles. This relentless drive led him to overwork himself, sometimes to the detriment of his health and social relationships. His parents' disappointment and the ridicule from other prospects—who mocked him for his lower-class background and ambitions of joining the Navy—only fueled his desire to prove himself, even if it meant sacrificing rest and leisure. To his great joy—and his parents' disappointment—Malachi passed the entrance exam. With mixed emotions, he boarded the shuttle to Prakith to begin his life in service to the Empire.

Imperial Academy

On Year 25 Day 263 Malachi arrived on Prakith and began his education at Imperial Basic Training. Malachi Studied under Training Officer Klyssik Farr and later under Academy Commandant Thokul Tovcor. Under the tutelage of TO Farr Malachi passed the Academy exam with a score of 97.24% granting him honors upon graduation. He then went on to complete his field training with Academy Commandant Tovcor, passing both the space and ground training available at the Academy. Malachi graduated from the Academy on Year 25 Day 276. At his graduation ceremony he was awarded the Imperial Academy Graduate - Honors award by Academy Commandant Tovcor and assigned his duty station in the Imperial navy, beginning the first steps to his dream.

Imperial Navy

Upon exiting the Academy, Malachi was sent to the Amber region Joint Task Force. He proceeded to complete more advanced training specific to the Military under Commodore Klyssik Farr. Soon after he then began to participate in operations for the Amber region and truly began his service to the Empire.

His initial duties involved logistical operations, escorting and transporting a dangerous artifact, and maintaining order within Imperial space by eliminating hostile bandits and creatures, both in space and planetside. While his initial assignments were routine, Malachi remained eager for more significant responsibilities.

Operation Forward Observer

In Year 26, Malachi received his first call to a major operation: Operation Forward Observer (still partially classified). The objective was to pilot a carrier ship to establish forward reconnaissance within enemy and neutral system space.

Eager to prove himself, Malachi took his station on the bridge and delivered a brief but motivational speech to the enlisted personnel under his command. Once in enemy space, he skillfully piloted his carrier, successfully completing his objective despite enemy contact. His decisive actions helped ensure mission success, and for his performance, Malachi was awarded the Imperial Activity Medal—marking the first major milestone of his career.

Operation Gaping Maw & Obsidian Crescent

By this time, Malachi had settled into life within the Imperial Navy. Proud of how far he had come, he remained ambitious, always seeking ways to further serve the Empire.

On Year 26 Day 36, he was assigned alongside Captain Ro Tem and Commodore Jovan Drark to investigate an abandoned research installation in the Maw. Upon arrival in the system, their unit discovered lost Imperial assets drifting in space, leading to their first commendation. However, the real challenge awaited them aboard the derelict station.

As his fellow officers advanced inside, Malachi prepared to enter a decompressed section of the station, donning an Imperial vacuum suit. Just before stepping inside, a distress call came through—his unit had been ambushed by a rogue Jedi. The hostile force attacked without warning, forcing Captain Tem and Commodore Drark into a retreat. Hearing their calls for backup, Malachi rushed into the fray.

In the chaotic battle that followed, Malachi found himself face-to-face with the Jedi. A single stroke of the lightsaber carved a deep, diagonal gash across his chest, from his right pectoral to his abdomen. Though he fought back valiantly, the wound left him severely weakened, forcing him to retreat to his ship for emergency treatment.

While the officers eventually completed their objective, the cost had been high. For Malachi, this encounter was a harsh wake-up call—a reminder that sheer determination was not enough to overcome every challenge. The injury left him permanently scarred, both physically and mentally. He realized he was still far from the warrior he aspired to be. This experience drove him to train harder, refining his skills to ensure he would never be caught off guard again.

For his service during the mission, Malachi was awarded both the Letter of Commendation and the Obsidian Crescent.
