Euna Miriel is a retired Captain of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Army. She was born on the planet Coruscant and was raised by Treblus Mir and Karolyn Riel along with her two siblings until she left home to join the Imperial Academy at age 17. Euna is perhaps best known for her humorous artwork that started out as random drawings to amuse her unit and then spread to the rest of the military. Early Life
Euna Miriel, age 6 |
Miriel had a privileged upbringing. Her parents were from a middle class background when they met and settled on Coruscant. They were invited to join the planet's high society due to their positions within their respective corporations and started a family. Miriel and her two siblings were all born on Coruscant. Her father, Treblus is from Kuat. He is the Kuat Drive Yards liaison to the military and holds the coveted position as the KDY represetative on Coruscant, the Imperial seat of power. Miriel's mother, Karolyn, came from Thyferra. She works with a bacta company, holding the position of Vice President in the Zaltin Corportation's Coruscant branch.
Euna in her speeder racing kit. |
Euna's focuses as a youth were on what her parents and society considered unladylike pursuits. While she was a mindful child, as a teen she chafed under the constraints of the gentry and at age 14 rebelled by racing speeders. She was far from being the worst racer, but she was not the best either, likely because her mechanic skills were mediocre so she never had the best machine to race with. She was never hurt in her pursuit of this seemingly reckless and rebellious hobby as she has good reaction times and was able to save herself from harm.
Teenage Euna, attending balls. |
In school, Euna focused on linguistics, public speaking and art. During her teen years, she was formally introduced to high society and began attending balls and ceremonious events. Euna kept up with the fashions of the day, but for her it was more of a chore than anything else. At these events, she found the peacocking to be insufferable, and instead found herself listening to the talk of the senior officers attending. She grew enamoured with the Navy.
Euna so disdained the life of the gentry that she left her home manse on her 17th birthday and signed up at a recruiting station in a less-prosperous part of Coruscant. Her family did not support her decision to join the Imperial Academy and there was a minor scandal for her parents back home. When she went to the military, she left much of her old life behind, mostly symbolized by the expensive clothing that stifled her and represented her upper class station. However, more than once, she has come to appreciate the training she received as a youngling, and has put the social graces drilled into her to good use at various military and state social functions.
Galactic Empire
Having always been strong in academics, Euna did not disappoint her instructors at the Imperial academy. She graduated with honors and earned her first ribbon and promotion to Crewman First Class. Soon after graduation she was assigned to the Imperial Navy and was the second recruit selected for the brand-new Seventh Imperial Fleet, under the command of then-Lieutenant Commander Rex Corwyn. Her first mission involved important construction efforts on Scylla. Her merit during the mission of Scylla earned her her first Letter of Commendation. Soon after, her fleet was selected to be a part of the Assault Force. Euna was dedicated and focused on her career, serving her fleet as the Operations Adjunct, and later as Chief of Staff.
