Star Destroyer Series
Contents
Introduction
The Star Destroyer product line is a series of Imperial design Capital Ships. Those Capital Ships are one of the Galaxy's most powerful and mighty War machines capable of destroying entire fleets. Each fleet of the Imperial Navy has a Star Destroyer to represent its might and glory. They are peace keepers, patrolling the Galaxy with nothing to stop them. Star Destroyers are gathered around into a fleet of two, even 3 Destroyers ranging from one Star Destroyer or Two, and a couple of Victory Star Destroyers, followed by smaller craft such as Carrack Cruisers and Lancer Frigates.
Destroyer Types
List of current Destroyers in the Star Destroyer Series, going from the largest to the smallest.
Super Star Destroyer
The Super Star Destroyer (also known as SSD) is by far the largest Spacecraft ever created, and the largest of the Star Destroyer Series. Its length is over 12 kilometres long weights over amazingly 665 million tons. This type of Destroyer is built only in places where a big enough shipyard can sustain a Capital Ship such as this. The Super Star Destroyer Armament is huge with 250 Turbolasers and 250 Ion Batteries. Although the Super Star Destroyer isn't very fast and manoeuvrable, it makes up by its size and weaponry. There are only a few Capital Ships such as this patrolling the galaxy, and it is often accompanied by a bunch of Imperial Star Destroyers. It is safe to say no ship can escape this dreadful war machine's wrath.

Imperial Star Destroyer
The second most large Capital Ship in the Star Destroyer Series, the Imperial Star Destroyer I (also known as ISD or Imperator Star Destroyer) is the perfect killer. It's shape and design makes its enemies crumble in fear. This ship stands at 1.6 kilometres long and weights 6.4 million tons. Still small compared to the Super Star Destroyer, this Destroyer is much faster and has greater manoeuvrability. Its weaponry is astonishing with over 80 Turobolasers and 60 Ion Batteries. The Imperial Star Destroyer's power comes to full potential when dealing with other Capital Ships of its size, although capable of destroying smaller craft as well, it is unable to effectively wipe out a Squadron of quick fighters. This is why the Docking Bays of the ISD are equipped with TIE Series fighters to destroy any threat that smaller craft may oppose. The Imperial Star Destroyer is seen along with other Star Destroyers and a small fleet of smaller Capital Ships to wipe out small freighters and fighters. This perfect Capital Ship is by far the most suitable one for Large scale combat.
Victory Star Destroyer
The third most large Capital Ship in the Star Destroyer Series, the Victory Star Destroyer I (also known as VSD) is an excellent frigate and a multi role Capital Ship. Its design is similar to its successor, and is a bit smaller than the ISD. Going for only 900 metres long, and weighting just 1.6 million tons, this ship is perfect for small fleet battles. It usually accompanies the larger vessels like the Imperial Star Destroyer. Its weaponry can take out most fighters and small Corvettes, and its speed is even faster than the ISD, allowing it to move to strategic points quickly. Like the Imperial Star Destroyer, the VSD holds a Docking Bay as well, making fighter deployment available. While in combat along with an ISD, this makes an excellent fighter screen to wipe out initial enemy forces.
Interdictor Star Cruiser
The last of the Star Destroyer Series, and respectively, the smallest, the Interdictor Star Cruiser isn't actually a "Star Destroyer". It holds the same shape and design as the Imperial Star Destroyer, but has minimal weaponry. It weights about 1 million tons and only 600 metres in length. The Interdictor Star Cruiser's main role is neither attacking, nor defending, it was made to literally, stop the enemy. With its four large gravity well projectors, the Interdictor could prevent the enemy from escaping into Hyperspace. It could also stop Hyperspace travel when activated while a ship is traveling. The Interdictor is found mostly in large fleets along with several Star Destroyers such as Victory-class and Imperator-class.
