Biography
Pak is a young and highly adventurous Corellian who loves to try out new things, and before his parents untimely end, he was often seen climbing up the famous Kor Vella Mesa, which in more primitive times had been a haunt for fearsome predators. Although predator-free by Pak's lifetime, the Mesa itself was still a very difficult climb, with many pitfalls and lose handholds.
The City of Kor Vella |
Orphaned at an early age, Pak has no substantial memory of his social standing, and all that he can remember of his parents was that they where well off, and that they lived in an estate on the top of the Mesa. He also remembers that they would often go out and enjoy days in the surrounding Corellian countryside. His younger brother, Jax, was only a year old at the time of their parents' death, and it has been a great sorrow to Pak that the only life he was able to give his brother at the time was one that involved growing up in the squalor of the Shanty towns. The two brothers spent their early years avoiding Imperial patrols, so as to avoid the harsh regime of an Imperial orphanage, or worse, the Work House.
Corellia's snow-capped mountains |
Showing a natural aptitude with speeders and ships, Pak worked hard to earn just enough for his brother and himself to eat by helping out at Kor Vella's spaceport, repairing spacers' hyperdrives and astro-droids. At times, though, Pak and Jax would show 'the Wanderlust' Corellians are famous for, and would go hiking together in the snow-covered mountains near their home. It was while Pak was working at the spaceport one day, listening as he typically did in on the spacers, traders, and pilots telling tales of angels and battles in the depths of space, that Pak's desire to leave Corellia truly blossomed, and his dream of one day joining the proud Imperial Navy drove Pak to work even harder.
Corellia from orbit |
Now in his 21st year, Pak at last his chance to go out and explore the wider Galaxy, having enlisted in the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy to see the stars and serve the Emperor.
Pak and Jax at a Shockball game |
While attending the Imperial Academy, Recruit Gjin worked hard and learned much under the tutelage of Training Officer Santiano Salazar, a commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Imperial Army, Pak was able to graduate. 2LT Salazar was a man Pak came to respect very much, and found him to be one of the very best teachers he's ever had, instilling in him the necessary respect and admiration for Imperial officers that Pak would need to excel in his service to the Empire. Pak graduated with an impressive score in the low-90s, and joined the Imperial Navy as a Crewman upon graduating.
Now serving happily as an enlisted man the finest fleet in the Galaxy, Pak has at last been able to get his brother Jax the proper and full time education he deserves, in the Imperial Schools on Corellia. Pak is paying for his kid-brother's education with his monthly wages, and with the winnings from bets and competions within his fleet on the side.
On the 348th Day of the 12th Year of the New Order, Crewman Gjin was promoted to Flight Corporal, and was bequeathed all the privileges and responsibilities associated with his new rank. It was while he held this rank that Flight Corporal Gjin received the distinguished honor of having his skills as a fighter pilot recognized and acknowledged by Lord Admiral Blackrain himself during a Naval Monthly Meeting.
Description
Pak is 6 foot 2, with black hair and blue eyes. He enjoys keeping himself fit, and he weighs in at ~200 pounds. He has the signature Corellian thirst for adventure, a habit that has led to him to have to jump out of many a bedroom window, when unexpected husbands return to find their wives being... 'entertained'. He also has a prankster's sense of humour, and enjoys playing tricks on his comrades, and he can often be found in good spirits.
However, the loss of his parents when he was younger hit him hard emotionally, and, being so far away from his brother, Pak always has a protective feeling towards his fellow enlisted peers, and it is not unknown for him to surprise them with lavish gifts instead of the usual pie to the face.
