Biography
Early Life
Arya Downing was born on Year -10 to Naylor Downing and Alyssa Septin Downing in the city of Coronet on the planet Corellia. Unfortunately, even though he was born healthy, his mother Alyssa, who's health had always been ailing, didn't make it through the childbirth process. With his father, Naylor, preoccupied with his job as a freighter pilot, Arya pretty much grew up alone with only an old nursery droid as company. He didn't have many friends and spent most of his time tinkering with a broken down speeder his father had owned since his youth or locked away in his room messing with his computer terminal.
Like most Corellians, his mind always seemed to wander to the far reaches of space, where someone else was living a life of adventure that was meant for him. As the first step in realizing his dreams, when he turned 17, he enrolled in a pilots academy in Coronet where he also worked as a starship technician to cover his tuition fee. Months passed by and Arya was content with how things were going, he was set to follow his father's footsteps in becoming a freighter pilot when he graduated from the academy. He planned on buying his own ship after accumulating enough credits and from there the possibilities would be endless.
His world came crashing down around him, though, as Arya suddenly received alarming news of his father whom he had lost touch with over the past couple of years. The cargo freighter his father was piloting fell victim to a pirate attack and all the crew members, his father included, were missing and presumed dead. Even worse, it was revealed that his father owed a large amount of credits to a dangerous criminal gang operating in Corellia. It wasn't long before Arya received threats that his life was in danger if he didn't pay off his father's debt. Distraught and confused, he made up his mind to sell off all of his possessions and bet all of the credits he had in a single high-stakes shockball match. As luck would have it, he lost the bet.
On the run from his creditors and without a single credit, Arya desperately searched for a way off planet to escape with his life. After a few days in hiding, he stumbled upon an Imperial Recruiting office. Without any other viable options, he signed up for the Imperial Academy. With that, Arya ran away from his old life on Corellia and began his career in the service of the Empire.
