Seren Ngo is presently a Lieutenant serving in the Imperial Navy of the Galactic Empire as the Executive Officer of the Fourth Reconnaissance Group of the Third Imperial Fleet. In addition to her duties within the Navy, she currently holds the positions of Graphics Assistant for the Imperial Art Society and Junior Training Officer for the Imperial Academy.

Born and raised in the metropolitan city of Coronet, Corellia for the majority of her life, Ngo had never stepped foot off of Corellia prior to her service in the Galactic Empire. Spending most of her early life attending school and working part-time as a waitress to help support her family and their small repair business, her attention was focused on one thing and one thing only: survival. After being replaced by a WA-7 droid as a waitress shortly after the departure of her brothers from Corellia, Ngo struggled to find work to help support her family for several months before Robert Reynolds suggested that she join the Empire with him; a suggestion that would change her life.

Venturing further and further away from her home world for the first time due to her new Imperial life, Ngo devoted herself to her work in the Navy and in the Empire to keep herself from her thoughts of home and the increasing loneliness she felt in space. Where she lacked in natural talent in the Imperial Navy, such as in piloting, at first, where she was no better than the average pilot, she made up for it with hard work; a trait that was noticed and awarded for as she made her way through the ranks to become an Imperial Officer. She was several months into a relationship with Johnny Sasaki when she met Squall Tigroe, a man who captivated her with ease, and after sorting out her feelings, she left Sasaki and married Tigroe.

    The Galactic Empire

"From now on, you will have to breathe the air of higher places."
    — Voren Ngo to Seren upon her acceptance into the Imperial Academy.

Prior to her decision to join the Galactic Empire with Robert Reynolds, Ngo had maintained a stable career as a waitress at a small but surprisingly popular diner called “The Jagged Pearl”, or “The Pearl” for short, in the Treasure Ship Row in Coronet. For nearly six years, the Pearl had provided her with a small but steady source of income that helped her and her family make ends meet until she was suddenly replaced by a WA-7 droid. With her father’s repair business on the verge of going under, Ngo withdrew herself from the medical research and development program at her local university after realizing she would be unable to afford her tuition as she searched for work. For months, she struggled to find work and finally out of desperation, she returned to the Pearl in hopes of being offered back her position only to discover the reasons why she was let go.

The owner, a Thyferran immigrant by the name of Stefan Iscandar, solemnly confessed that he was bribed with credits and the WA-7 droid into letting her go by a growing production company, whose intent was to cut off one of the sources of income that kept her father’s business afloat that kept them from receiving new customers. Distraught by the news and the reason why she was constantly turned away for work with other businesses, Ngo went to Reynolds, who had returned to Corellia for a short visit from his duties. Sharing Ngo’s frustration after patiently listening to her situation, Reynolds suggested that she join the Empire with him, saying that while the company had an influence within Coronet that could ruin her, they would never be able to touch her again under the protection of the Empire.

Ngo’s decision to join the Empire and enlist into its military with Reynolds was faced with fierce opposition from her mother and her eldest brother, Sekel. While both feared mostly for her safety, her mother, in particular, argued that it was not a woman’s place to serve in the military and constantly searched for ways to change her only daughter’s decision to the point she even shunned Ngo for several days with threats of disownment. With no support from her family except from her disowned brother, Iain, and Reynolds, Ngo had considered obeying her mother’s wishes to not join until the day she received her letter of acceptance into the Imperial Academy. Her father, who had remained silent on the matter since the very beginning, met with her in private, away from her mother’s cold and cruel words, and told her that Reynolds told him the reasons why she wanted to join and with very few words, gave her his blessings and support.

    The Imperial Academy

Upon entering the Imperial Academy, still without the support and approval of her mother, Ngo was assigned to the then Provost General of the Academy, Galdarzz Aalon. For several weeks, she studied diligently under the watchful eyes of Aalon, who was always willing to provide his help when she needed it, but part of her mind was constantly elsewhere. During her time at the Academy, she had received several letters from her mother telling her that it was not too late for her to turn back and return home and left Ngo with feelings of doubt and discouragement until she received a letter of apology. Her father, who had finally grown tired of his wife’s behavior towards their daughter, had finally told her mother the reasons why she had decided to join and their deteriorating financial status. Finally receiving her entire family’s approval and blessing, the feelings of doubt and discouraged faded from Ngo, and she soon graduated from the Academy with Vrogard Delahon conducting the ceremony for Aalon had suddenly been called away to tend to other duties.

Shortly after graduating from the Imperial Academy, Ngo requested to enlist into the Imperial Navy with the help of Vrogard Delahon, who forwarded her request to the Resource Allocation Department of the Imperial navy. After only a few days of waiting, she was contacted by RADIN informing her that her request was approved, and that she would be assigned to one of the Imperial Fleets of the Empire. Soon after, Ngo received an order to meet then Command Flight Officer Adin-Duanath Yeriamman, a fleet-mate, who was assigned to take her to one of their fleet’s flagships and to further assist in developing her skills as a pilot. Upon her arrival on one of the fleet’s flagships, she met the familiar faces of Galdarzz Aalon and, much to her surprise and relief, Robert Reynolds. Having finally left Corellia for the first time in her life, Ngo struggled for several weeks to settle comfortably in her fleet despite the friendliness of her fleet-mates and Reynolds’ efforts to help her overcome uneasiness in space and in the military. Plagued with thoughts of home and the feeling of loneliness, she devoted herself to her work for the Navy and the Empire to keep herself from her thoughts.

Where Ngo lacked in natural talent, such as piloting where she was no better than the average pilot, she made up for it with hard work; a trait that was noticed and awarded for by her Fleet’s Command. As Ngo made her way up through the ranks of the Imperial Navy, her responsibilities increased as she proved herself to be a loyal member of the Empire. When it was revealed to her entire fleet that Yeriamman had been selected to transfer to another fleet to become its Executive Officer, she was selected to become his replacement as the fleet’s Operations Adjutant. In addition to her new position within her fleet, Ngo was also selected to temporarily train the new members of fleet as Aalon’s other duties demanded his complete attention.

With her skill developing more and more as a pilot, Ngo soon developed a specialty in reconnaissance missions where she was constantly ordered to sweep through several enemy planets to gather information quickly and unnoticed and shadow enemy pilots. Having earned a reputation of being quick and efficient, she was ordered to temporarily lead a pursuit mission with the new members of the fleet, who she was in the middle of teaching maneuvers, until Aalon and Moff Ben Camden arrived in the system to assist her. Organizing her small squadron to chase out the sudden arrival of several New Republic ships, she pursued the pilots and halted their production attempts. During the mission, Ngo encountered one of the enemy pilots face to face while she was arresting New Republic builders and after the brief brawl, the New Republic pilot fled only to be aggressively pursued by her until he fled the planet and the system completely. By the time the mission was brought to an end with the New Republic abandoning their efforts, Ngo, later with the help of Aalon and Camden, stopped almost 40% of their building efforts.

    The Imperial News Bureau

An unexpected turn occurred in Ngo’s part-time career in the Empire during her probationary period with the Imperial Art Team when she fulfilled a request for the then Editor-in-Chief of the Imperial News Bureau, Jango Talon, who was also a recently transferred Operations Manager from the Ministry of Industry to the Imperial Navy as a Lieutenant. A few days after she had finished designing several advertisements for the Iron Will, she discovered that she had been hired by the bureau without her knowledge or consent and quickly contacted Talon to correct her status. However, Talon was persistent in trying to keep her as a member and after several days, she joined the bureau. Ngo worked for the news bureau for several months as one of its artists without complaint until a period occurred in which she became extremely discontented with her work until the sudden and unexplained resignation of Talon from the Empire.

The months following Talon’s resignation, Ngo remained a loyal member of the news bureau as it struggled to recover from the lost of its Editor-in-Chief. Working beside the acting Editor-in-Chief, Arek Lindemann, and then the official Editor-in-Chief, Wyatt Gabriel, she became satisfied with her work once again as she went through several sleepless nights as she worked to modernized the Iron Will. After the news bureau became stable again, Ngo submitted the final version of the Iron Will to Gabriel along with her formal resignation as her duties within the Navy demanded more of her time.

    Returning to the Imperial Academy

Soon after her duties within the Imperial Navy began to settle down again, Ngo was left with long periods of downtime that she had originally spent working for the Imperial News Bureau. She had considered returning to the news bureau but soon decided against it for she realized that she would be unable to meet the demands of the organization without sacrificing what little time she already had with her husband. A former fleet-mate, a Gand by the name of Doogie Darkrose who knew how antsy she became during long periods of downtime, suggested that she apply to become a Training Officer for the Imperial Academy. After considering responsibilities of the position, she applied and was selected to return to the Academy not as a Recruit, but as a Training Officer.

    Personal History

Long before Ngo and her two older brothers were even born into the Ngo (and Lehra) household, Ashuri and Voren were two very different individuals living on opposite sides of their home world. Living a life of luxury in Corona, her mother was born into a privileged family of astronautical engineers while her father struggled to even stay warm in a small town in the South Pole region of Corellia. Separated from each other physically and in social class, the only thing that brought these two together during Voren’s year long stay in Coronet for school was teenage love. At the tender age of fifteen, near the end of their intended year long romance, Ashuri discovered that she was with child. However, rather than terminate the pregnancy like her parents had ordered her to, she made a daring decision that would forever change her life. Choosing love over luxury and influence, her parents disowned her thus allowing her the freedom to give birth to her first child and son, Sekel, and marry Voren. However, four years later after the birth of her second son, Iain, the love she once held for Voren was beginning to run low as her materialistic desire slowly returned.

Shortly after discovering that Ashuri was pregnant with his child, Voren was able to rent a small, barely functional, two-story building that served as their home and his repair shop. Barely able to pay the rent every month and for other necessities, Voren struggled to provide for his growing family. They lived off of what remained from each job, and he could see the growing unhappiness in the woman he still loved despite of all the hardships in the short years after the birth of their second son. Constantly having little to no money, perhaps, that was what led to the affair that ruined what was left of their marriage. Just before their seventh anniversary together, Ashuri announced that she was pregnant with another man’s child and that she was leaving Voren for the man she was seeing for almost a year and for nine months, she lived a blissful life. However, shortly after giving birth to her third child, she was abandoned by the father of her daughter. Jobless, homeless, and with a newborn child, Ashuri desperately returned to her still legal husband, who took her back into what was now a loveless marriage.
