Task Force Delta

Task Force Delta was an elite offensive military unit created by Emperor Vodo to combat the Empires enemies at the time.

Formation

Members of what would become Task Force Delta received coded communications directly from the office of the Emperor informing them they were to form a new, offensive unit and were hand picked by the Emperor based on their service and skill sets. The leader of unit was Brigadier General Joshua Chamberlain with initial command of the units operations falling to Admiral Adar Machkhit. Along with Chamberlain, Tnsumi Shine and Maxamillion Power were added to the unit, with Shine being the units XO.

Initial Stages

Chamberlain began by consolidating Imperial equipment into easily deployable strike packages. Everything the unit needed would be on shuttles and barges and placed in strategic location around the galaxy along with officers so that they could have a presence on the ground in a very short time nearly anywhere the Empire needed them. This would soon be tested with the first major mission the unit was tasked with...Kashyyyk.

Kashyyyk

Intelligence came in that the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk was not only harboring Rebels, but the Wookie population was providing aid and comfort to the enemy. It was Task Force Delta's job to go planetside and deal with the problem. They wasted no time in rounding up confirmed Rebels and their Wookie compatriots. Unfortunately the Rebels used civilians as shields during the operation and as a consequence some collateral damage occurred, much to Chamberlain's regret. After operations began to wind down Chamberlain recalled all units to return to his flagship, The VSD Widowmaker with prisoners in tow. As expected, the Rebel response was overwhelming and far tok late. The Alliance diverted massive resources to Kashyyyk to combat an enemy that had long since moved back to Imperial territory. In the end both sides claimed victory, but given the fact the Alliance suffered a multitude of losses compared to zero Imperial casualties, it was clear who really won.

Redesignation and Disbandment

There were rumors that certain officers resented the unit given its elite status and tensions within the military were running high. Chamberlains XO, Tnsumi Shine had died in a mysterious accident and Maxamillion Power became his new XO. The High Command thought it best to reassign Chamberlain from ACO, a post he held concurrently with TFD, to Chairman of COMPNOR.He was also made a Major General. To placate the internal hostility to the unit, the name was changed to COMPFprce and placed under Chamberlains direction in COMPNOR. It was during this period that XO Powers was captured by enemy forces. With his time more devoted to running COMPNOR it was decided to disband COMPForce so that more energy could be devoted to the Chairmanship of COMPNOR. While the unit only existed for a short time, the impact in made both internally and upon the galaxy cannot be denied and years after it's disbanding it's still brought up at least once a year on GNS.
