Biography (WIP)
Childhood and Civilian Years
Born to Sirius and Sasha Dregoth, records show that his father was an Imperial pilot and that the family had lived on Coruscant.
Beyond that not many files can be found on his childhood and it is extremely rare to find him talking about it for an Interview.
There was an event that occurred years ago during year -5 that experts speculate maybe linked to his past but it cannot be said for certain. The reports state that during that year roughly around the 126th day of the year there was a small scale rebel attack on the Imperial Embassy. The explosion of the failed attempt had only destroyed part of the front gate and some of the eastern wall of the Embassy building. Imperial medics who were the first to arrive on scene reported several injuries and sadly two casualties, an Imperial pilot and his wife. Officials commented later about the tragic incident, while horrible an event there had been some good news as the couple’s son who had been there with them when the attack occurred had survived relatively unharmed from the attack.
Reports of Gredek remain scarce until his late teenage years where he shows up again still in Coruscant working for his cousin’s taxi and freighting business. While working there he stared out as a driver on the surface, but as he matured he moved up to freight pilot and eventually to manager of the business. It was said that ever after he reached the stars in space for the first time that he became infatuated with the tranquility of space and travel among the stars. The peacefulness of this child like dream was eventually smashed the first time he was held up by pirates while on a cargo run. It is thought that after this event he began seeking ways to bring order back to the galaxy and at that point he enlisted into the Imperial Military.
Enlisted Years
“Looking back all these years, many great names come to my mind, Kippenbrock, Sacha, Samurai, Rob, Trilac, and Skice. It was an honor to have served under each of these individuals, to learn from them. To me at least they made the Navy what it is…, they made me the Officer I am today.”
Enlisting in Year 7, Gredek entered the academy young and eager but would instead have his world turned upside down with the rigors of military protocol and the constant flight training. For his professor Lieutenant Morris would cut no recruit any slack under her watch. Gredek would successfully grade just under the required score for honors, and he would then ship off to his new assignment.
While his spirit had not been completely squashed it was much more to his dismay when he learned that it would take several weeks by shuttle to reach his new assignment with the Elrood Naval Defense Fleet. Tasked with the defense of the sector the fleet would have Gredek assigned to one if it Wings, under Wing Commander Kippenbrock. He would serve with the defense fleet until it was called into the core and the Elrood Defense fleet was then merged with the Navies Second Imperial Fleet.
Now serving under Fleet Admiral Samurai and Commander Sacha in the Second Fleet, Gredek continued his career without any notable reports early on. Some other enlisted at the time that he served with are notables such as Orphaea Imperium, Rafel Jemal, Janos Korin, Yuthar Sith, and Andhers Jakhim. Time and work passed as usual until Gredek learned that disorder was not only rampant in the galaxy but could also come from within after Thomas Givens defected from the Empire. So angered by these events it was noted that quickly volunteered to Commander Sacha to attempt to chase the traitor down. Sadly once Gredek arrived to the last known location Givens had already escaped and the Imperial vessel was found empty. After these events a Leave of Absence was requested, which was quickly granted so the young man could gather himself after the hard blow of betrayal which he had taken personally.
Gredek would return full of energy and reinvigorated after spending time with his cousin. Upon his return he was reassigned to the Navies newest fleet the Sixth, which was part of the Imperial Navies shadow pos at the time. Under Admiral Ramos Rob and Lieutenant Commander Trilac he continued his work with new found dedication. While in the Sixth the fleet saw several command changes, Admiral Rob to Commander Trilac, and eventually Trilac to Admiral Skice.
Under Commander Trilac, Gredek had moved up to being one of the senior enlisted of the fleet. He was given a position as the fleet’s morale officer where he worked on projects such as Fleet emblems and names for the Sixth. During this time he was also doing several part time jobs for the Empire such as Academy Professor, and Imperial Recruiter. During this time the Sixth also conducted one of the most memorable Operations in Gredek’s Career. Operation Burning Heart took the Sixth Imperial Fleet to the heart of the New Republic in the system of Republica getting a chance to set their sights on the one and only MC80 Home One Class Star Cruiser at the time. Gredek lead some of the elements of the fleet during this operation and got his first taste of commanding while doing so. Being a success, the mission had a great impact on the morale for the fleet, for Operation even got mentioned in a GNS Report.
Under Admiral Skice, Gredek continued his work in the Sixth, he would rise up the rank of Command Flight Sergeant and would become the fleets Chief of Staff after Daniel Ascarion moved up into the Fleets Executive Officer Position. Notable Operations of the time for the Sixth were New Sky and Fortress which involved heavy fighting to gain control of the Corporate Sector. In which Gredek recalls spending many long night shifts during the operation.
Receiving his Commission
“At the time it seemed like I had taken one step forward in my career then forced to take two back. It would have been nice if they had warned us that there was going to be a shift, instead of us just hearing the rumors. While this was bothersome after it happened, looking back on my career I have no hard feelings about it now.”
Gredek was enrolled in the School of Officer and Command Studies shortly after he had proved himself to Admiral Skice during Operation Fortress. Placed under Admiral Vulcan as his professor he studied hard so that he could make the next step in his imperial career. Successfully completing the course he had just missed honors for the second time in his career. But there was still much celebrating to be done by Gredek and his fleet mates.
Sadly the celebrating was short lived for unannounced to the Enlisted and new officers the Empire was about to begin a dramatic change. During an Imperial meeting it was announced that the Empire and the New Imperial Order were to reunite merging into one greater power. To handle the influx of incoming new order navy personnel the Navy had to create several new fleets and move much of staff around. As a result Gredek was forced to step down as Chief of Staff and left just a normal pilot of the Sixth as the OA position had been filled. This change struck the morale of everyone very hard, and hit Gredek right at home.
He served several months as just a simple pilot until he was dragged into an office with his Commanding and Executive officers. It was explained that another fleet was having command issues, and Gredek and the Sixth’s executive officer Daniel Ascarion were to be shipped off to fill the void. Before he departed Gredek was promoted to full Lieutenant to handle his new responsibility.
Arriving to the Ninth Imperial Fleet as the Executive Officer, Gredek and his new boss Ascarion found it in much disarray as if much of the command structure had been lost. Still to this day Gredek still has never found out what truly happened to the fleet before he arrived. Much work got put into reviving the fleet and putting it back in line with the standards of the Imperial Navy. He spent about a year with the Ninth he had to step down from his position about half way this year through to assist his cousin with issues back home at Coruscant.
He would later be reassigned back to his old home at the Second Imperial fleet under Captain Kaine. He would hold position as the fleet’s executive officer there. He would serve in the Second for about 4 months without any noticeable report beyond everyday fleet activities.
