Biography
Lane Rendell was born to two human parents in transit from Naboo to the Empire stronghold of Bastion. His father Cecil Rendell was largely involved in spice trading, and his mother a reporter for the Bastion Times. Lane was born premature a few weeks, and complications left the mother weak for several months, but she eventually recovered. His family was largely middle class, his father made just enough money to where the family was able to live comfortably, yet remain largely out of the Empire's notice.
Coupled with the money his mother made off of her writing the future looked quite bright for the young family, and Lane's early childhood was markedly happy and normal. He went to decent public school's and generally did well, usually falling in the top percentile of fellow students' his age. His teacher's remarked that he was above average intelligence, cheerful, and got along well with other students.
Early Years
Lane graduated in Year 1, not the best student, but near the top of his class. Instead on enlisting in the newly formed Galactic Empire or running way to fight against it like others, he started working with his father in his spice business.

Present
After transferring from Myorzo Weapons and Ministry of Industry, Lane began serving in the Imperial Army, a place where he had a long background in working for. He briefly served as a Legion Adjutant before taking some personal time. He now holds the rank of Captain and enjoys the work, even if it is tedious. Amongst the tedious work Lane's personal life had began to blossom.
In early Year 11, while on personal leave Lane met Thalia Brando on Corellia. The daughter of a wealthy winemaker named Montresor Brando, in Coronet. Lane was enjoying a drink in a local bar, and playing poker with a few off duty Army enlisted. He had developed a natural affinity for poker over the years, and was making more money than he was losing.
Thalia had wandered in the the very same bar as Lane and his Army friends. Lane caught a glimpse of her from the corner of his eye, and watched her cross the bar warily. She is most definitely in the wrong place. This is going to get ugly, he thought before shifting his attention back to his poker, I'm off duty anyway, it's not my responsibility.
Lane had no sooner turned his attention back to his cards, than Thalia passed one of the enlisted at the table. The man made a quite rude remark about Thalia and Lane dropped into officer mode, the warmness fading from his eyes. "Sergeant. You may be off duty, but you are a representative of the Empire. Do not make the rest of us intelligent people look like dolts. Are we clear?!"
The Sergeant gulped and avoiding eye contact,"Crystal s-sir. My apologies ma'am." The enlisted man gave an apologetic bow of the head. Lane turned to the girl and was struck by her charisma,"I apologize for his crassness. Care to join us however, you look a bit unfamiliar with this place."
