History
The 7th Imperial Fleet is one the newer fleet in the Imperial Navy to date, and was established after the latest Naval reform. Prior to the creation of the 7IF there was a rather large influx of new recruits wanting to join the Empire. Both this influx and IHC's wish to restructure the Imperial Navy contributed to the creation of the Seventh Imperial Fleet, commonly known as the 7IF.
Then LTCMDR Rex Corwyn, who earned his spurs in the First Imperial Fleet under the leadership of Axe Vulcan, emerged as a suitable candidate for the post of CO and was appointed by FADM Slicer. Corwyn chose his staff based on past experience, selecting both senior enlisted and officers whom he deemed as suitable for the job. His choices were based on past experience with these prospects. In the end ENS Markus Saretti was appointed CoS at Corwyn's request. LT Orion Jenru, a veteran Imperial himself, was appointed XO by NHC. The ranks of the fleet were supplemented by several senior enlisted who helped to establish the 7th as a fully functional fleet. VADM Ramos Rob was assigned the post of Admiral of the Fleet to oversee the smooth launch of the 7IF. During his last days as in this position, he commended the work of Corwyn, saying: “It's good to know that the fleet is in such good hands.” VADM Rob retired shortly thereafter.
Both the experience of the command staff and the dedication of the new members of the 7IF were crucial factors in establishing the fleet as quickly. This effort was rewarded by NHC with a FoM-award. It was during this period that the 7th established a preliminary command post in the Jumus system. This post's primary function was to aid in the coordination of the fleet's involvement in the development of the tax planet Scylla, but it soon became evident that this simple command post had grown beyond its initial purpose. Jumus is now considered as the fleet's headquarters and main garrison.
Since then the 7th has seen several recruits, pilots and officers pass through its roster, either moving on to different assignments, being discharged honourably or simply retiring. Currently, the 7IF has a steady roster of pilots and officers. LTCMDR Carvalm was one of the notable additions to the 7th, who, upon his return to Imperial service, assumed the position of Adviser to the Fleet, thus supplementing Fleet Command and adding his experience to the fleet.
Year 10 turned out to be a fateful year for the Seventh. At the end of Year 9 LTCMDR Markus Saretti - then XO of the fleet - was assigned to a temporary mission and young, ambitious officer ENS Kendan Tarr had succeeded him. Tarr was the fleet's CoS prior to his new position and he knew alot about the fleet's workings. Still, it was a tough job to be the XO under a CO as active and demanding as Corwyn. Tarr struggled with the demands of his position at first but eventually he came through. With the renewed command staff relaxing to their positions, another period of success began for the Seventh. Participating in a variety of operations as a part of Assault Force, they set new standards of excellence in the Imperial Navy.
Unfortunately this period didn't last long. Corwyn, already a living legend in the Imperial Navy, announced his retirement from active service. Corwyn was a huge inspiration to all servicemen in 7IF and his force of will was the key in pushing the fleet towards it's mounting successes. With him gone, motivation of the fleet collapsed. Some of the enlisted simply retired whil others put requests for transfer to other branches.
On Year 10 Day 167, NHC called Saretti from his temporary assignment. After being briefed about the recent merge with New Imperial Order (NIO) and the retirement of CMDR Corwyn, the young officer has been offered the position of CO for 7IF. Shocked at his mentor and friend's retirement but honored at being considered for this position, Saretti accepted. He immediately got to work with Tarr supporting him.
7IF was in a bad shape then. The unit had lost most of it's experienced members, replacements were either fresh Cadets from the Academy or transfers from other fleets and even another faction (NIO). Seventh had become a fleet filled with strangers, a fleet without a personality. 7IF command staff knew that if they ever hope to achieve success, they had to breath this unit a soul.
---More needs to be added---
As of Y12 D33, the 7th Imperial Fleet was disbanded. The old members then became the newly created 7th Recon Group. And together with the newly created 6th Assault Group, they will become the new 6th Imperial Fleet.
Scope of Operations
Mission overview
Missions of the 7IF include, among others, typical Navy missions:
- System Scanning/Patrol
- Planet (Atmosphere) Scanning/Patrol
- City Scanning/Patrol
- Arrest/Execution of enemies of the Galactic Empire
- Material Hauling
- Facility Construction/Recycling
- NPC/passenger Transport
- System Invasion
- System Defence
NHC and, in extension, IHC both determine the current type of mission for any given fleet. The 7IF has participated in several missions so far, and continues to perform its duty in the Empire.
Completed and running assignments
- Tax Planet: Scylla
The 7IF was heavily involved in the Scylla project, and its contribution to the success has been recognized as integral. The strong presence of the 7th added to the force the Empire displayed at Scylla, which in turn rebuked the feeble attempt of enemy forces to disrupt the completion of this important tax planet.
- Tax Planet: Tarorasuil
After completion of Scylla the 7IF joined the effort on Tarorasuil to complete this tax planet. The 7th also arranged planet-wide NPC pick-up for the MoO.
- Operation: Spearhead
The 7IF participated in a coordinated battle simulation which aimed at evaluating possible strategies for space combat.
- Classified and Solo Missions
Apart from regular duty members of the 7IF participate regularly in select missions for the IHC/NHC. The nature of those missions varies but can not be disclosed. Suffice to say that the 7th has been held in great esteem for those efforts.
- Assault Force
The current emphasis of NHC lies on readiness of its fleets. Hence, joint operations between the Army and the Navy are being conducted in order to explore the different options in inter-branch operations.
Pilot training and simulation
As one of the newer fleets in the Navy, the 7IF was equipped with cutting edge technology and outfitted with the most sophisticated means of pilot training.
The most noteworthy and likely most sophisticated facility is the BattleSim. It allows for simulation of battle conditions for newer pilots who did not see combat yet. It has several settings and can accurately emulate all desired conditions, ranging from simple scanning missions to coordinated attack runs.
Aboard its flagship, the Chimaera, the 7IF has access to a VTF, a visual training facility, which can create all kinds of scenarios for pilots and command staff. This facility has already seen some action in the form of “Functional Naval Ingenuity Exercises”, a series of tests and exercises aimed at heightening pilots' awareness and solution-oriented thinking. In addition, the VTF provides several other programs. Among them are automated and guided tutorials for new pilots, or refresher courses for senior members of the fleet.
Structure and Equipment of the 7IF

Similar to other fleets of the Navy, the 7th is structured into squadrons and assault groups. All squadrons report directly to Fleet Command, which in turn reports to Navy High Command.
The regular rooster of the 7IF is composed of pilots and officers, both on active duty, carrying out NHC's orders. In addition to this staff, the 7IF has a contingent of engineers and technicians at its disposal for the purpose of keeping the equipment battle-ready.
Like all other fleets the 7IF possesses a flag ship. In the case of the 7th it's the Chimaera, one of the Empire's ISD's. The fleet's other armament consists of a large number and variety of capital ships, fighter squadrons, and attack and support vessels. While not in active service, those craft are stationed in various strategic positions in order to ensure quick deployment when needed.
Miscellaneous (Brothers in Arms)
Notable ex-serviceman and women of the 7IF
Over time the 7th has turned out to become a kind of officers forge particularly as a huge number of notabel members earned their spurs within its ranks. The most notable of them are listed below in alphabedical order:
Davsk Carvalm - A veteran Imperial who re-joined the Empire after working on several missions outside its jurisdiction. His current status is as a reservist.
Rex Corwyn - A great leader of men, a brilliant tactician and founder and first Commanding Officer of the 7IF. He had retired to reserve in Y10 D193.
Rawther Den - Being a talented pilot he already served as Fleet OA and CoS in 7IF at an early stage of his career. He became known by his compelling papers about military engineering and his detailed chronicles. Thanks to his extraordinary leadership qualities the Emperor relieves him from office shortly after his appointment to an officer to serve in regional administration.
Orion Jenru - A seasoned veteran of the Empire, whose career spanned several years and left a mark on the 7th. His experience as a pilot was and likely still is unrivaled. After passing his experience onto the younger pilots and thus helping to forge the fleet's senior staff, he took a less active role in the Imperial Navy and asked subsequently for a transfer to reserves.
Euna Miriel - Served as Fleet OA and CoS in 7IF, had transferred to the AF partners in the 2IL where she was holding the position of the LA.
Kavash Orr - (coming soon)
Gunther Rall - Had transferred to the AF partners in the 2IL where he is holding the position of the CO.
Ramos Rob - Assigned as Admiral of the Fleet during the fleet's creation and early development. Retired shorty thereafter.
Kendan Tarr - Had transferred to the 1IF where he is holding the position of the CO. He had rose to the rank of LTCMDR in the 7th and was the fleet's XO.
Ledagi Tormata - Served as CoS in 7IF.
Stefan Skyreaper - Served as XO in 7IF Axe Vulcan - An honorary member of the fleet, he is the mentor of the two CO's this fleet had; Commodore Corwyn and Captain Saretti. So he's an important character for 7IF. But he hasn't served actively in any capacity in this fleet. He retired from the Navy Commanding Officer at Fleet Admiral.
