The Corellian Imperial Oversector, throughout its long history, has been a leading galactic center of culture; making significant contributions to art, science and philosophy. Located on the Southeastern borders of Imperial territory, the Imperial Sector extends from its Capital and namesake Corellia in the East all the way to the Testarr Sector in the South and hosts more important Galactic Heritage Sites than any other Imperial Sector. In no small part due to the revenue generated by the resulting tourism, the average Corellian citizen enjoys a high standard of living and the Imperial Sector itself performs well in Imperial rankings of education, health care, life expectancy, civil liberties and development.

Planetary Governments
The planets within the Sector are many in number and given the right to organize their own planetary governments as long as they are compliant with Imperial Law, maintain their productivity, and, it goes without saying, that they recognize the superior authority of the Imperial Regional Government. The Corellians, being fiercely independent, have established a trend of having generally democratic planetary governments, though some planets feature notably authoritarian governments.
Military Presence
As the "business heart of the Empire", it is necessary for the New Order to maintain a strong, visible military presence in the Corellian Sector. To this end, the Groups of the Imperial Navy's highly-disciplined 3rd Fleet and elements of the Imperial Army's battle-hardened 3rd Legion are permanently stationed in strategic positions throughout the Sector. These military units serve at the behest of the Sector Moff, and can, in response to enemy incursion and attack, be fully redeployed to anywhere in the Sector within 24 hrs.
